Profile: In the early 90s, when Walker still dawned an Elven guise, Walker came across a man in the old Anime Café who seemed mighty in his wizardly arts, but it turns out he was far more a summoner than that. The two met over the idea of a guild, a thing more or less foreign to Walker until that point, and eventually--through mutual respect for one another--they bonded as friends. They went through several skirmishes and feuds with multiple people, and due to this, he was one of the friends brought by Walker to meet Shai and her friends that formed the original UGoI.
Years later, Lance began one of his many travels to Anime Gaming that was done from time to time, and caught the citizenship changed for the worst. The idea of "guilds" came over from Rhy'Din, causing several factions to arise and attempt to struggle for power and dominance over the once anarchy-driven lands of AG. Feeling both groups were corrupt because the citizens did not want this change of events, Lance raced back to the UGoI Islands, telling Walker, Rahan, and Piccollo of the knowledge he'd learned, and mentioning one of these guilds to be The Orochi. Deciding that this had to be stopped, the four of them charged their homeland with the intent to putting a stop to it.
Because of these actions, Lance started a chain of events that would change the UGoI forever. Their attack on the Orochi gained them the attention of Vent and his ESF team, who likewise had animosity with both guilds vying for power. They joined forces to fight the Orochi and the evil version of the ESF, and ended up also getting sweeped into the wars with each other's guild-enemies that surfaced thereafter, such as the DSW, the SOE, and the ZRF. In the end, both guilds won, but at the high price of both guilds losing half their members to relationship issues and political differences. In the end, however, Lance stayed on when UGoI and ESF merged together to make their halves whole once more.
By 2000, Lance had followed Walker to Rhy'Din once more, and prepared a long career in military training for the Night Parade. His presence became less and less, however, and by 2003, all signs of his presence was lost entirely. Where has he gone? No one knows. Speculations place that he may have just gotten worn out and retired from the fighting scene, considering he was the one that usually got behind in the arts. Others say he just got lost, and he'll be back some day. The UGoI, for one, hope it's the latter, because indeed Lance was an honorable addition to the team, and one of the oldest friends the UGoI members ever had...if not the oldest.
Personality: The most obvious aspect of Lance's personality is his sense of humor. It's as if whatever genius he has was all channeled into the ability to deliver snappy dialogue. But much like Hawkeye on M.A.S.H., Lance is prone to joke in order to mask his own pain, or to make cheesy comments even when inappropriate. The other problem with this attitude is that Lance has been playing the buffoon for so long that not even he takes himself seriously. While the incident with Lance meeting Walker was never discussed afterward, it still seems to be a major influence on Lance's personality, having shown him that the supernatural exist, that there is evil and that evil must be stopped. Indeed, this is one of the few subjects that can make Lance dead serious, and he remains very loyal to Walker, since he knows the kind of stress he is under. It is because of that personal loyalty, and the importance of the UGoI's mission, that Lance has remained in the gang so long.
Because of his own feelings, and because he knows what's out there, Lance also tries to be protective of the women in his life, especially Abby. In his case, this is a real psychological disadvantage because most of the women in his life are better at self-defense than he is (especially Abby). And while Lance is hardly macho or chauvinist, he often feels resentful that he isn't able to do more than the women around him. He actually serves best as a source of emotional support, but he often tries to get more directly involved in the action, with mixed results. And in the serious relationships he has had with women his protectiveness tends to become patronizing, and he often gets into belittling arguments with the girlfriend.
Lance was originally very arrogant, and very sure of himself. He shattered Ryo's leg in the first Orochi skirmish and was very confident about beating the Orochi in the final days. Interestingly enough, he was angered by having Walker interfere in the fight and demanded that Walker stop. When he saw what kind of family and fellowship the UGoI held, Lance began to doubt his former guild. He also stated that he was not a killer, and had no desire to replace Rahan as an assassin. Lance became more of an honorable fighter, disdaining the use of weapons and other tricks and preferring to win his fights fairly, using only his own skills and chi powers. Lance's closest friend and constant sidekick is the diminutive Mike. The two are inseparable and are often found together. Lance is very protective of him, and will do his best to keep him out of harm's way.
