Howard County

 | McKeldin Area
Patapsco State Park - Marriottsville
Well maintained hillside and riverside trails, with some
rocky sections. Entry fee applies on weekends ~ $2.00 per adult

 | Rockburn Branch Park
- Elkridge
Four (4) miles of well marked and well maintained
trails. Access trails lead to the Patapsco State Park near Orange Grove and Avalon areas.

 | Savage Mill Park - Savage/Laurel
Riverside and hillside trails. There is a mixture of
wide, well maintained trails and others which offer more of a challenge. Some
trails parallel asphalt bike paths and others use the powerlines area. Trails connect to
the old Gorman area trails to Route 29.

 | Schooley Mill Park
- Clarksville/Highland
Four and a half (4.5) miles of well maintained wooded
trails and cut grass pathways. A hunt course and an outdoor sand ring are available
when shows are not scheduled.

Carroll County

 | Liberty Reservoir - Finksburg
Maintained fire road trails through wooded areas.
Beautiful views of the reservoir. Maps available in "The Baltimore Trail Book"
by Suzanne Meyer Mittenthal.

 | Morgan Run Wildlife
Management Area - Sykesville
At least 10 miles of looping maintained wooded and cut grass
trails. Most are in open meadow areas, some wooded.

 | Piney Run Park -
Sykesville
Well marked trails through evergreen and hardwood forests.
Much of the trail parallels the lake shoreline.

The Carroll County Equestrian Council works
with the parks department to maintain the trail system at several parks, including the
Carroll County Equestrian Center at Gillis Falls. To find out more about this group
