New season, new schedule The new walking schedule, running from September 16 2001 to December 16 2001, is attached. As normal, we have catered for all members by holding two grades of walks on most walk-days. If you have any questions regarding a walk, feel free to contact the relevant walk leader prior to the walk.   2. The AGM The AGM will be held on Tuesday, October 16 in The Stables, Drogheda commencing at 8pm sharp. Please pencil this in on your calendar. It is an opportunity to meet most of the club members, voice ideas/concerns and potentially get involved in the committee.   3. New members (and Emails) Just a special welcome to all new club members (and potential members!). Most of you have spoken to the current club secretary (Dermot Reynolds) or the club membership secretary (Geoff Wayte) regarding club details. Mountaineering Skills 2 Course Interested in brushing up on your map reading and general mountaineering skills? If so, please contact either Frank or Myra. Some details of the course are presented below: It is the "Mountaineering Skills 2 Course" in Tiglin, Co. Wicklow. Currently, they are considering the weekend of November 17/18. The cost of the course is £115 per person, which includes the course, overnight accommodation on Friday & Saturday, lunch and dinner on Saturday and lunch on Sunday (18th). Depending on interest, further courses can be arranged. 5. Foreign exploits… No doubt we are missing lots of things people did but here are some of the things club members have been up to over the summer. Geoff and Heidi went to the MCI Meet in the Italian Alps in July. Sean De Grae attended a High-Alpine training course in the Italian Alps recently Dermot spent 10 days hiking in the French & Swiss Alps in June. Ken and Gearldine spent 3 weeks hiking in Spain. Congratulations to all. Hopefully we will put some of the photos onto our website soon. Please contact Dermot if you have been on any hiking trips (foreign or domestic). It is a great way to spread information to other members who may be considering a similar venture in the near future.
