In the past the island, when working together needed very little resources outside of the island. Each city was unique in which resources it produced. The four cities supported each other by supplying their own resources to the rest of the island. Because of this system where resources were traded to other areas of the island, people were able to work with and create many different things. Now, the island still can support itself quite well but their main imports are not material goods although this plays a big part their main imports are technological advancements such as computers, televisions ext. Their main exports are the materials and minerals found on the island.
