ANCIENT TRIQUATRA
21 BC - 518 AD

Triquatra was founded by the Romans in twenty one BC while in power of Augustus during a time known as the Pax Romana, this was the time during which Rome was at its peak. During the Pax Romana, the Roman Empire extended over much of Europe, the Middle East, and northern Africa. At that time, no other nation had sufficient military power to attack the Romans. During this time Roman Conquerors founded the land and settled there originally naming it after the general who lead the exhibition, "Castello".

This island was used heavily during this time as many minerals and materials were found throughout the island. The Romans also found use for this island in that they used it as an outpost for trade and military purposes. The first settlers of Castello (Ancient Triquatra) were soldiers sent to the island to guard the area and use the land to its geographical advantage. The first non-military settlers arrived around the same time as the soldiers but had a different purpose, they farmed the land, cut down the many trees and dug out the mountains producing the many materials and minerals the island had to offer. It was originally estimated that there were five hundred soldiers and four thousands civilians.
When the Roman Empire Fell in the four hundreds AD the population stood at an estimated, nineteen thousand eight hundred and fifty including three thousand men who formed the army. Twenty years from this, without Roman reinforcements the general crowned himself emperor and he and his soldiers took control of the island and the people in it. The General and self-proclaimed Emperor, "Fluore", decided that he and his soldiers deserved respect and retribution for Rome forgetting about them and so he divided the land between them.

The settlers of the island were treated as slaves, they were given very little food and money for the hard work they did. This was of course until 518 AD when the civilians formed a revolution against the Emperor and his army. The civilians over powered the army with their numbers and slaughtered the Emperor. This war lasted for two months, from the first battle till the surrender of many soldiers.
The island was now at peace and free from treachery so in order to stop someone rising to power and forcing slavery back into their lives they decided on living in a government where there was no one leader but instead a group of five leaders. They also decided that the land was to be separated into four states, having a main city for each of these states. They also decided to change the name of the island, calling it TRIQUATRA, meaning the three-point country.

After deciding on all of this, they branched off creating the separate cities and using the land to its full advantage. They mined the mountain, fished and farmed along the delta and built many things using wood from the forest. The idea of Triquatra is the three-point island and the interaction of each of these points. The miners supplied the rest of the island with minerals, while the builders of the forest region supplied the rest of the island with wood and equipment and the farmers and fishermen supplied the island with food. It was at the centre city, Centos, that the trade and government were held, all dealings of the island were first brought to Centos in order to be approved. If one part of the island was affected the whole island was affected.
