Strategies for Success |
Fabulous Brunch |
Depending on the size of your event, you will want either one or two assistants. Even if you are hosting a small family get-together, a designated helper or two will make the meal go much smoother than trying to entertain guests and prepare the meal. The ideal helpers are teen or pre-teen girls and boys who are anxious to help and will learn valuable skills by assisting you. I recommend assigning these tasks to your helpers: |
Enlisting Help |
> Greeting guests at the door > Taking coats and letting the guests know where their coats will be > Showing guests around (where the bathrooms are, where the meal will be, where children should go, etc.) > Entertaining other children (This will be a great relief to visiting parents) > Carrying dishes to the table or buffet line > Clearing used dishes from the table > Freshening beverages > Clean-up (Although a bribe may be needed for this one! |
