Start your meal with the Onion Blossom or the Bar-B-Que Shrimp. The onion is one of the best you will find on the Westbank. It is served like all others around with a tangy sauce in the middle for dipping. The BBQ Shrimp are good. I think that they are better than the one's at Manale's. They taste just like they should. The Seafood Gumbo is also a great starter. A good dark gumbo full of crabmeat and shrimp.
The entree to have would be any of the Filets. They do a great job of cooking their steaks. They offer 3 sizes to fit anyone's hunger. The ribeye is also an excellent choice. What I like to do is to get a combination Steak and Seafood platter. My favorite is the Beafood Platter. It comes with a 6oz. Filet, Shrimp Remoulade, Shrimp Pasta, Crab Cake, Fried Shrimp, Catfish, Hush Puppies, and Fries. If you can finish this, you must have been on a hunger strike. The Surf & Turf is the same filet with Fried Shrimp & Oysters. The last time I went, I tried the Steak & Lobster. While both were good, I think the lobster would have been better without the stuffing. The Soft-Shell Crabs are veery well done if you are not in the mood for steak. While the fancier seafood dishes are good, I would not pass up a good steak here. The entree comes with a dinner salad, and your choice of a Baked Potato( one of the better ones on the westbank), Garlic-Butter Potatoes ( My Favorite), or Fries. The desserts are the basic Cheesecake, Bread Pudding and Ice Cream. All good but usually never have room to enjoy htese.
The service staff is good. It seems like the waitresses have been there a long time. Since the dining room is small, a wait might deveolp. The waitresses are quite aware of this and make sure that you are eating at a quick but comfortable pace. They are very helpful and knid.
Make every effort to find this place. You will not regret it.
