// Final Fantasy VII

This game is GOD! No, not just a god, it is THE God. I know a lot of people that bought a Playstation just for this game. I bought Final Fantasy VII the day it came out, I was in 9th grade I remember, it was like my second week of high school. Ahhhh memories! Anyway, no one had ever seen any game like this before when it came out. Nowadays people are desensatized to the awesome job Squaresoft does because they are just so used to it. Before this game, RPGs were flat, two dimensional things... well, hey, there's nothing wrong with that either. Final Fantasy VII is all about the eye candy and mood... and boy does this game have mood! This game has attitude! It's got it all!

The graphics are beyond cool, beyond awesome even, and if you went back in time four years ago and talked to me, I would have said "beyond godlike". We all know how Squaresoft fills it's games with FMV (full motion video animations) as if it were some magical pie filling for success. This game was the first Squaresoft game to have FMV I believe, and everyone that played it wet their pants when they say just how cool it was... well, my seat was soaked anyway. Woops, what I was saying is, this is beautiful even without FMV. The pre-rendered backgrounds make it seem like some sort of digital painting of epic proportions... they really pull you into the story.

The futuristic and industrialized city setting that it starts out in, and all the other dark atmosphere spread about is why I like Final Fantasy VII more than any other RPG I've played so far. I crave the darkness! I crave machines and industrialism and pollution (even though that's gonna shorten my life probably), and it's all over the place within Final Fantasy VII's mystical world! There's also lots of weird secret things that are friggin' hard to find!

All the characters are damn cool! Especially Tifa, she's hot! ... and I could not praise the soundtrack enough even if I tried, so let me just say, it's kickass! Kickass kickass even... maybe even a little more. Let me just say that Nobuo Uematsu, the composer of the soundtrack, REALLY knew what he was doing. The music makes you FEEL the game as it unfolds... not an easy task.

So if you've never played Final Fantasy VII, I suggest you give it a try! It's like playing a 70 hour movie. A lot can happen in 70 hours!

This game gets 9 / 10 stars.
