// need to know syndrome
These little occurances have been happening me more and more often recently, therefore it has earned the honor of being my first rant. Need To Know Syndrome, or NTKS, happens to us all at one time or another. It can strike at any time, and more often than not, completely without warning. Hell, it doesn't strike at ANY time... it strikes at the WORST times possible.

For those of you unfamiliar with this condition, let me explain it to you. So there you are, going about your day to day life, minding your own damn business, when all of a sudden you think of something... anything can spark this thought, it could be hearing part of a song, a quote from a movie, or a commonly used word. Once this 'thought' comes to mind, your mind analyzes it, and discovers that part of your thought is incomplete. There's a hole! It could be big, it could be small... but it's most definitly there. You might know exactly what song you're hearing, but you can't put a name to it! The quote from a movie is clear as day, but the part of your mind that tells you what movie it was from cannot be touched with a ten foot pole. Sometimes it's even a simple word that causes these NTKS manifestations; you know what the word means, but you don't know what the word is, but you know what letter it starts with! How convenient, a lead on your worthless quest that will spin your mind around like a blender until it blows up from your increasing retardation while your girlfriend boinking session comes screeching to a halt just because you can't remember the word "tiddledywinks". This kinda crap is just unfair... they probably use it as a form of torture in third world countries.

Consider yourself lucky if you find the missing piece of the puzzle by the end of the day. I've had NTKS events that started months ago and are still plaguing my mind... taunting me, waiting for me to snap... but they'll pay. Oh, how they will pay. I have a friend that used to be a doctor before he inhaled some gas in Nam, he's gonna get rid of those invisible NTKS mind goblins! I got the hammer and nails, where the fuck is my vise! Damnit!
