We started the first quarter with some of the best run on football we have played so far this season. It was very impressive and totally shut Takapuna out of the game, in fact I don't remember them getting anywhere near our goals in the first period. Unfortunately from there it kind of went down hill. old habits coming in to play, players not thinking about what they are doing and basic mistakes coming back to haunt us. Although Takapuna never really threatened us on the scoreboards they put a lot of pressure on us and fortunately our back line was water tight, a very impressive back line performance. Our second half performance was well under par. Senior players making mistakes out of character and the talk on field  faded to silence. Being held goalless for 1 and a half quarters was evidence we were not performing up to expectation. I cannot wait until we put together a complete 4 quarter performance. We will be unstoppable. If we can be so inconsistent and at times playing very badly and come away with wins, if we put together a complete game it will be a thing of beauty to watch. We have some extremely talented players and some guys that are improving beyond belief. Pukey, Sharpy, Garters and Hardy again had strong games. Stu, Burls, Howie and Froggy owned the back line and impressed. Clint was rock solid in the centre and true to form was consistent for the 4 quarters played. Another win under the belt with confidence rising, lets put it together for longer periods as we approach the finals and show this league how football can be played.
