Seito's Review:

Oh man, this was so... great. Conspirator has done a great job concerning the character development of Himura Kenshin from when he first arrived to Kyoto, until after Tomoe was killed. Another good thing is how she shows Kenshin dealing with his job as an assassin, the people around him. It's a wonderful look at Kenshin during the Bakumatsu.
However, while "Descent into Madness" is one of my favorite Rurouni Kenshin fics, there were some things that I didn't like about it.
One of them was that somehow, I really don't see a Japanese man in the late 1800s using the term "flipping out". As well, there was this thing with Kenshin and sake. He mentions in the series somewhere (manga, anime) that sake tastes like blood to him. Which makes me wonder why he still drinks it in the fic. Finally, occasionally, the writing didn't seem to flow well.
Moving past that however, I really enjoyed reading this and it's definitely a Rurouni Kenshin fanfiction that I'd recommend to anybody.

Seito's Review:

Tears and Rain is a look at Soujirou after Shishio, and his journey of self-discovery. I like the way Gabi-hime portrays Soujirou's whole outlook on things, his reactions, the way he's slowly developed, as well as her original character. I do however think that Kuri is rather... clich?if you think about some of the heroines you see in anime/manga, however, she's also an interesting and rather amusing at times. Gabi-hime has a wonderful writing style.
