| Valerie likes to play with plastic rings and mirrors. She puts the rings in her mouth,
and she looks at her reflection in the mirror. |
One of Valerie's first solid foods besides cereal was carrots. She
seemed to like the taste, but it also stained her clothes! |
We were happy to know that Valerie could hold her own bottle. She
is not so good at tilting it up all the way though. |

| Valerie's first solid food was cereal. Matt was in charge
of picking this up from the store, so he bought the mixed cereal. We mixed 2
tablespoons of the cereal with some breast milk. We mixed it to a lumpy consistency,
and Valerie wasn't able to finish it the first time. She now takes about 1/4 cup
of the cereal. |
Valerie likes to hold her bottle. She likes to hold ANY bottle.
We think she picked it up from Lyla who drinks a lot of water from a water bottle,
so Valerie is probably just imitating her Mom. |
Valerie loves her bath! She enjoys being naked. She hates getting
dressed afterwards! But she likes being wrapped up in her towel. We think she looks
like Yoda here. |

| Valerie got a kick and drive gym and activity center
from one of the secretaries with whom Carol Goldstein works. She started
using it at about 3 months, and she really LOVED it. We would say, "kicky, kicky,"
and Valerie would start to kick her feet, so that it hit the pedal which would play
music. She now uses it sitting up, where she hits it with her hands. |
Valerie got this toy from Matt's friend, Christine Champeau.
Valerie was able to use it right away. We attached it to her infant carseat. When
you press the nose, the toy plays, "Pop goes the Weasel," and the cheeks would
light up. Valerie would react to the lights and the music. |
As identified above, Valerie loves her bath! Within the last month,
Valerie has been playing with toys in her bath. Most of the time, the toy goes directly
into her mouth, but sometimes she will actually play with the toy, like the wheel that
is attached to her bathtub. |

| Everyone kept asking if Valerie was teething because she kept
putting toys in her mouth since she was about 4 months. However, she did not get
teeth until mid-July. Here, Valerie is enjoying her little fishy teether, while
she was at Tomas' birthday party. |
Matt put the pirate party hat on Valerie. Although it was a
little too big, she was busy enough chewing on the toy, so that we could get a
good picture. |
This was actually Valerie's first train ride, and she seemed to
be okay. She got a little cranky later in the day, but I just put her in the Baby
Bjorn, and she was fine, so long as I was standing! |

| Because this was our anniversary, Matt decided to make me
breakfast in bed. He made my favorite: pancakes. I decided to take this opportunity
to take photos for the Krusteaz people, so I dressed up Valerie, and I posed her.
These were the 3 pictures that I sent to the company. I hope to hear back from them
soon. |

| Valerie is a pro at eating now. She still loves her cereal,
which she will eat in 5 minutes, while getting very excited in between bites! She has also eaten all
sorts of vegetables and fruits. We will not start her on meats until after her 9 month Dr.'s appointment.
However, her two bottom teeth may require something more. |

| Valerie likes to babble a lot. We don't understand her yet,
but we suspect that she will be talking at an early age. |
Valerie will sometimes get very excited while playing. She
will make noises and wave her hands. |
Valerie likes her stroller, so long as you are pushing it. She
will not let me stay still. She likes going for walks. |

| Valerie likes her stroller because she likes the
movement, and often times, she will fall asleep in the stroller. |
Valerie also likes her car seat for the same reason; the
movement puts her right to sleep. |
Valerie is very grabby. She will grab hair, your face, your
fingers, stuffed animals, and anything else you put in front of her. She has a pretty strong grip,
so it can hurt! |

| Lyla is starting Valerie young, by taking her shopping to as
many places as she can! The baby bjorn is great for this, but she just recently started
sitting in the shopping carriages. |
Valerie loves to suck her toes. It is annoying when she tries
to suck her toes while I am feeding her! |
Valerie will put one or both of her feet in her mouth. She will
pull off her socks or shoes if they are on, or she will suck her socks or shoes. |
