Valerie has many different activities nowadays. Aside from trying to get a Sears portrait for her about once a month, she has her daily activities. These include: taking a bath, changing her diaper, nursing, eating breakfast, lunch, dinner, crying, taking naps, and playing.

Valerie and I go to Grandma Yee's house about 3 times a week, so that Grandma can watch and play with Valerie while Lyla goes to the gym. The other two days are spent either shopping and/or going to a playdate. (See her friends pages.)

Valerie does not watch a lot of television. She does not like the baby mozart, einstein, etc. series or any specific video. However, every once in a while, she will watch a game show with me. I think she likes the music, bells, etc.

Valerie can keep herself entertained somewhat sitting up on the floor with some toys. She really likes her kick and play activity center, but she will keep herself entertained with a good box or tin, and the Racko card holder. And she still likes her water bottles.

I also noticed her love for music. Matt will sing Classic Rock to her right before he puts her to bed. I like to work out to late eighties, early nineties songs, that she seems to enjoy as well. We also had our friend, Joel come over to play some guitar for her, and Valerie accompanied him as a back-up singer by singing "ahhhhhhh....." while he played and sang. My Mom says that she does the same when my Mom sings to her, but once my Mom stops singing, so does Valerie!

While Lyla was pregnant, she did not have any cravings, except for pancakes, so we bought 10 lb bags of Krusteaz brand pancake mix, and Matt would make her a pancake a day. Lyla wrote to the company to tell them this story, and she enclosed a picture of Valerie. We received two letters and packages including one from the president and CEO thanking us for the picture and story. They also sent us coupons and several boxes of their products! Lyla took some additional pictures and sent them along just recently, and we are still waiting to hear a response.
