Our friend, Israel, Matt, Valerie, and I went to Plumb Island for the day.
We had a nice picnic on the beach, and Valerie enjoyed herself. This was her first beach trip. |

Valerie did not like the swimming pool. We went to Grandma
Carol's house to swim, and Valerie did not like the temperature of the pool, but as long as we were holding her,
and she got used to the temperature, she was okay. |

Once Valerie was used to the pool, we were able to put her in this baby raft,
and as long as we held onto her, she enjoyed it. |
We decided to take a hike to the Blue Hills, and Matt wore the backpack. When
we got back to the car, poor Valerie was soaked in Matt's sweat! |
Valerie likes her bathtub a lot better than the pool. We think
it is because her baths are generally between 90 and 95 degrees Farenheit. |

Valerie got this cool sun hat from our friend, Nora Daley. She wanted to show it off on the very sunny day. |
Valerie is very flexible, and she is always pulling on her feet. Here she is wearing a hand-knit sweater by Grandma Carol. |
Valerie has enjoyed the swings at the park ever since she could sit up. Sometimes, she tries to eat the front of the swing; that is
when it is time to get off the swings! |

Valerie and Matt were really tired one afternoon, so they both took a nap.
Matt propped Valerie up on one side of the couch, and he slept with his legs in front of Valerie in case she
woke up. They were both exhausted and must have slept for a good hour or so.
|
This was the first time that Valerie sat in the shopping cart. I usually
carry her in the baby bjorn, but she was getting a little too big for it.
|
Lyla is trying to teach Valerie how to grocery shop with coupons and the savings
card. She will learn how to be a bargain shopper!
