INDIAN CONTEXT

1. Whether job or free lance association 1) Overall analysis of future trends & contingencies in specific context & 2) Understanding of one's Paradigm (the way of looking at things as conditioned by past experiences) & not standard & easily available solutions work in the long run.

2. Manufacturing, Financial and Software companies faced problems because of lack of long term Vision (They considered big investments & not Adaptability to fast changing Business needs as Dynamism) & betrayed  Investors, Lenders, Creditors & Employees. We have forgotten story of Hare & Tortoise.

3. Employees sell out their life to employers who in turn sell out companies to others or introduce VRS.

4. Management experts say that getting lost into repetitive tasks (because of lack of Planning, Time management & Delegation or Protocol Orientation) dilutes vision for the future. One reaches saturation point early because time available is only 24 hours.

5. Now, Companies realise that Supervision is for Skill management; General Management for Integration (requiring Versatility) & Public Relations to build up Trust & Reliability.

6. Professionals pursued specialisation for the sake of specialisation & faced risks of changing demand-supply equations for our specialisation.

7. When we are referred to any doctor; 1) knowing doctor with specialisation & experience & 2) Solution to Problem are more important than knowing patient. Specialist doctor does not have 1) to start as family doctor or 2) to work under family doctor referring patient to him or 3) to give diagnosis as per instructions from Hospital Administrator if working for a hospital. No body will ever go to a doctor if he is referred as doctor in financial problem. References & Goodwill are for Trust & Reliability on Commitment & Competence & not for personal relationship. In business relations one has to be objective for right & long term decisions.

8. Our Professionals do not get recognition in India but when they develop technology for other countries we buy it for crores of rupees! After Foreign Rule, Licensing Raj & Politics; we have developed Yes Boss mentality, Showmanship, Flattery, Fear, Short term considerations; Concern for what others say or feel; Complacency; Task Orientation (Lack of Overview); Inflexibility; Responsibility orientation & Lack of Transparency; Openness & Responsiveness.

9. We professionals preferred to do what clients & bureaucrats liked but ridiculed the same at their back or in seminars & called it as 'Relationship'!

10. In Geeta it is preached that success or failure is not entirely in one's control but aiming low in the name of relations or duty is hypocrisy. After all professional dignity is knowledge backed by force of Confidence, Patience & Persistence.

11. Evenif a Chief Executive has to leave because of Politics; he does not get job fast. A junior skilled worker lives on daily earnings. That does not mean Chief Executive should downgrade himself & compete with juniors who may be more Focussed, Skilled & less Frustrated in the specific job.

12. Unfortunately advice to be Excellent in Process (Karma) & not result oriented (Short term considerations) was misunderstood by us We therefore considered materialism as sin & in the process allowed materialistic people to take control.

13. It is said that Etiquette brings decency; Emotions give mental security & Protocols prepare ground for relationship provided they are on sound footing of Fairness & Understanding. Understanding ensures long lasting mutual relationship with real love, respect & inspiration

14. We try to please others (from child to God) for a) Own Image (For popularity or for fears of what others say or feel); b) Sentimental attachments; c) Because others do so or d) With Pre conditions about reciprocity. We live a Hippocratic life of flattering & fearing dominating or related people & suppressing or exploiting vulnerable people.

15. Pandavas' Vanvas was necessary to keep away from Incident, Person & Protocol orientation for objective overview. Krishna also advised to be independent of undue influences [of elders (like Bhishma), teachers (like Drona) or those in power (like Dhritrashtra)] to fight evils. Mahabharat also proved that right direction (Krishna's role as Sarthi) can help us win battle of life & not big army.
