Weekend -- more cleanup inside and final purchases for electrical
fixtures - lights and fans.
Need to complete the selection of the ceiling fans and indoor
and outdoor lights. They will be installed this week.
Need to start preparing the walls on the main level for
painting. Need to do caulking around new baseboard and door moldings.
Need to clean and spackle/sand walls. Need to wood putty nail
holes in new woodwork.

2-19-2001 |
Hardwood floors installation completed on 2 upper levels.
Attic level sanded. Decided on leaving the upper 2 levels as
"natural" - no stain added to polyurethane.
Virginia Power re-attached the power lines to the side of the
house. They wanted to know if we wanted "more amps" added to the
house power. Currently we have 150 amps, and they recommended that we
increase it to up to 400 amps.
Siding guys put up the final 3 shutters on the windows along the driveway.
Margaret and Liz bought almost all of the lighting fixtures and fans at Lowes.
They got 6 ceiling fans and about 16 light fixtures.

Installation of Hardwood floors - finished sanding of the new bedroom
level and put first coat of
polyurethane on attic level.
Roofers completed their work by finishing around the chimney.
|
2-21-2001 |
Installation of Hardwood floors - they put a second coat of
polyurethane on attic level, but not the new bedroom level - it was not dry
enough to buff it out. Electricians added a light switch in Liz's old bedroom to finish the repair of
the remaining dangling wires from the demolished walls in the new family room. They
installed most of the light switches and wall outlets in the upstairs
addition. They also finished the porch lights by adding the trim around
the lights. They installed some of the faceplates for the telephone
wiring. Found out that we will be responsible for the completion of the
Coax wiring.
Ann put in the wood trim around the brick and drywall in the new
Breakfast room.

2-22-2001 |
Margaret bought the last fan and 3 bathroom lights and the front closet
light and all the light bulbs and all the faceplates and Cat-5 jacks for all 16
connections.
Ann put up the attic access panels. The electricians have the
lights for the access areas in the wrong places.
Installation of Hardwood floors - they put a second coat of
polyurethane on the new bedroom level and a third coat on the attic level.
|
2-23-2001 |
Complete the hardwood installation
on the upper 2 levels - scheduled to put third coat of polyurethane
on the attic level. Installing all indoor and outdoor light fixtures and ceiling fans and complete the wiring of the bathroom fans.
Need to finish installing the wall
sockets and light switches and telephone faceplates. Shelving guys to
come and put in shelves and rods in the closets and the door knobs on the new
doors. Snow Day for the kids - no school - Consequently, the plumbers
did not come to start installing
the bathroom fixtures.

Weekend -- cleanup and kids' basketball and indoor
soccer games. Scheduled to move upstairs over this
weekend. Need to get everything out of the main level.
Next week will refinish the
main level hardwood floors and wrap up the project with exterior clean
up and lattice and railings installation.
