 | Attended Montana State University on a full scholarship when Iowa State was not able to offer me financial assistance to continue in the EE Ph.D. I already had completed most of the course work for a Ph.D. (First Lesson in Funding Limitations in America, to see it repeat over and over again!) |
 | Graduated with a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in June 1974. And a great opportunity to live in the Wild West for 3 years. I also made many friends for life. It is amazing how nice people are in these remote parts of the world. Montana is 1/2 the size of Egypt, the population of Montana was ~700,000 in 1971 |

 | We were married in Egypt on August 7, 1973. It took a whole year to get Laila out of Egypt because of the '73 war with Israel, she was drafted into the Army as a Medical Officer |
