What´s a REALTORŽ doing with a mission statement?
I´m glad you asked!
Yesterday´s real estate was one of two extremes: Either you were a `power agent´ or you were a part-timer using real estate as a second job or a filler for time.
Meet today´s REALTORŽ.
I treat my real estate career as a full-time business, because that´s what it is. I am an independent contractor associated with a brokerage. As an independent contractor the person responsible for my income, earnings, efforts and rewards is one person: Me. What I do daily with my business determines my success or failure.
After almost 15 years in California real estate, I believe in success. My success comes from hard work, and the dedication to myself and my choice that real estate is not part-time filler.
The mission statement that defines my success is as follows:
- Treat each client with honesty, integrity, and the ethics I would expect if I were in their place.
- Communicate clearly and in a timely manner so there are no misunderstandings.
- Advocate my client´s best interests to buy, sell, improve, or otherwise use real estate to its highest and best use.
- Negotiate strongly and fairly.
- Act with professionalism and consideration towards other real estate agents.
- Maintain separation between my personal life and my professional career, and reward my family for their support and encouragement.
- Give back to the community.
- Praise loudly for the good, and speak softly of the bad.
