You can access the site by clicking here. It reads as follows:I'm having a tough day today. I woke up, took my agent Jack Bechta to work, and came back here to lie in the California sun. It's rough! I've got to live it up before I don't have any freedom for seven or eight months, you know. It is so beautiful out here in La Jolla. We don't have any mini-camps. We just had a rookie mini-camp two weeks after the draft. We have passing camp all through June just 4 days a week. Then we have a mini-camp at the end of June because we start so early. We've got 5 pre-season games that start July 13th, which is smack-dab right on my birthday. We've been out since January so I'm ready to get back to work. Right now is kind of my down time. The last two weeks I really haven't trained as hard as I was earlier after the season because I was getting kind of tired. I couldn't really figure out why I was so tired, but then I realized I've been training twice a day for the last three months. Plus the fact that I spend my free time participating in firefighter drills and going back to Iowa and entering the track meet and getting my butt kicked! I did a race in Iowa back in Feb and I also ran a Twilight meet for the university. I ran the 200 meters and, boy, was that a long way! Your first couple races when you're just starting the track season, you're supposed to go out easy. Well, this was my first and last 200 so I figured I might as well go out hard. The last 70 meters they just all caught me and ran me down. It was fun just to go back and see the guys and watch a meet. Now I've got to go back again for the Big 10 Championships and see my nephews and nieces again. I'm going to be in Orlando for the Rookie Supreme Shoot. I get to walk around with a microphone and interview all the young guys and get the predictions on how they're going to do and what they're going to do with all their money they've got now, especially these first-rounders, since I have SO much experience being a first-round pick. Yah! I just got back from LA yesterday. I did this little gig for Sega. I got my butt kicked from some guy they pulled out of the crowd. We played their Y2K -1, which is their new NFL football game. It's phenomenal, unbelievable! I couldn't really see half the screen because it was dark and they had these lights shining on us, so I got beat! I was the Bucs and I got my butt kicked 13-0 in ONE quarter. People were booing me and stuff and I was like, "I'll be back! All you Oakland fans, I'll be back!" It was pretty cool. Get this, during this big show with Play Station, Sega and Nintendo - the 3 big major makers of video games - they were having a big super show. All these new games that I saw aren't out yet, so it was cool. Not only was I playing these games, but I also got a chance to watch Mike D., spin master for the Beastie Boys, perform for about 45 minutes on the turntables. It was just VERY cool and my roommate will be very jealous because he's starting to learn to do that. He was rocking, man. Towards the end of this month my buddies and I are going to drive down to Panama City and stay at a humble, little hotel near the beach. We'll just kick back and enjoy ourselves. Well, I think we're going to head out to Palm Springs here shortly and enjoy the weather out there. Then we'll come back to Diego and maybe go to Pacific Beach. They're having a big block party from 9 AM to 6 PM. There will be about 40 bands and everything is closed off at P.B. I played in Sean Salisbury's golf tournament this past Monday. It was really cool because I got to rub elbows with Stewart and some of the other guys. Salisbury put on a great tournament. He had food at EVERY hole. They had crab and shrimp and hotdogs and all sorts of food. Now THAT's a tournament. They had a contest, actually, where you had to weigh in before the tournament and then after and whoever gained the most weight, won something. It was great. They had a professional long driver there and on a Par 4 300 yards straight up, he'd put it on the green every time. He was unbelievable. The tournament was held at Stone Ridge Country Club in San Diego. The money he raised from the tournament goes to his charity, which is for scholarships. For kids to get the scholarships, they have to write an essay why they should receive the scholarship and stuff about their lives. The stories are amazing! They narrow it down to a certain amount of kids who have to have and maintain a 3.0 G.P.A. or better. The kids pick their own school and the money gets saved for the scholarship for 4 years. It's a really neat charity. So it was fun to participate in that. I'm always up to something. Get back at you later News for May 8Former Iowa Hawkeye football and track all-American and current Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Tim Dwight competed in the 200 meter dash at the Iowa Twilight Invitational May 6 at Francis X. Cretzmeyer Track in Iowa City, Iowa. During the meet, an awards presentation ceremony was held at which time Dwight received his all-America, Big Ten Conference and team awards from last season. Dwight placed 10th in the 200 meters with a time of 22.42.News for April 12The latest edition of Tim Dwight's journal has been posted at his official website. You can access the site by clicking here. It reads as follows:How's it going? I have been running around everywhere. I'm back in Atlanta right now and I can't figure out where all these people came from. I don't remember the highway being so busy. Maybe it's just me. I was back home in Iowa for a while to see my family and friends. I had a good time, but there's not a whole lot to do there. What do people do there? I was out in Tahoe skiing. It's so beautiful out there. You're up on top of a mountain taking it all in. You feel so much energy! You look to one side and see the deserts in Nevada and then look to the other side and see nothing but white. It's definitely an experience worth having. I was out in Diego training, which is where I usually go. I tried this thing called Pilotti. It's a lower abdominal workout. I went to this hour-long class and I was the only guy there. It was all females. They thought I was crazy, but it was a pretty intense workout. I was actually asked to do some kind of workout video with a trainer. We'll see - it might be something I'll work on next off-season. Right now I'm working on some hats of my own that I want to get out on the market. I'll be selling them on my website here. I'm still trying to find the right people to do it so they come out as good as I have in mind. Well, I think I'm staying put for a while. Jamal Anderson just called. He wants me to go out with him and the boys tonight but I don't know. I might go to Florida for a long weekend in a few weeks, but that's about it. Have a good weekend.
News for February 27Tim Dwight competed in the 60 meter dash at the International Superstars of Track & Field Invitational on February 27, 2000. The meet was held at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Dwight ran well, but only managed a 5th place finish. However, he clearly led the field in signing autographs. Dwight, who was a high school teammate of Joey Woody, the man who directed the meet and a world class hurdler in his own right, in Iowa City at City High, threw five footballs into the crowd and punted another to the fans after his race. He had this to say following the meet: "People have a hard time understanding that track and football are completely different sports. Football guys aren't quite as fast when we go out on a track with these guys."The same meet will reportedly be held again next year, and Tim told reporters that he wants to do it again. Be sure to keep an ear open next year for the date and time of the meet.... Here are the results:
