Tour of Wei's World Part 1: Moorseville, NC
W.A.R Scale= 7.5

Yes, I'm starting to do a series on all the places i've been and places that inspired me and stuff like that. I'll start with my longest sustained memory of a place i grew up in. I was going to do china but one it'll take forever, and i don't think i can discribe it in words, its just an experience.
So according to the W.A.R. Scale a 7.5 is a pretty good score, but then again for a place you grew up in, it should be better shouldn't it? Well the thing is, it was full of great memories and friends and stuff like that. But as i look back, i realized it was great because of the people, not because of the town.
The town was pretty small, almost everyone knew everyone else. ok well that's stretching it. When i was there, there was only one elementry, middle, and high school. The next elementry school was in the next town. It's a southern town. All the stereotypes of southern living are truly there, except for the huge racial discrimination. On sunny days, its nice and lazy people on porches and people talking with a huge southern accent. Ah, it was nice back there. My friends and i would ride our bikes, race them, do whatever.
There was one street called "main street" (how original) where all the little old shops were lined up. It looked like shops from westerns minus the saloons. They sold alot of neat stuff, like 50 cent ice cream. The ice cream was sooo good and they give you sooo much. lol. But a walking down mainstreet is more of a historical thing then a shopping thing. Its just looking at hand made dresses, hand made crafts and hand made old fashioned southern food. And i do mean old fashioned.
The library there was really really really tiny, so we go to the next town for the library. Other than that its just a normal town with old stuff and new buildings like Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Movie Theaters and stuff like that. You know the average now-a-day buildings.
But boy there was a lake near our town. We would drive down there like on weekdays and stuff. It was soo beautiful. Gentle breeze, picnic lunch, swaying trees, kites in the air, laughter, bike riding, and boats lazily swimming by. The water isn't as blue as crater lake, but it had its certain appeal. "Boy, dat ol' lake just so perty." lol, southerness.
But it was the people that made the town. There were good people, and bad ones. There were some people that were just spoiled rotten. I dunno how or why they could be spoiled, but they were. There were other people (logan, ^_~) that were just the streotype southerner. I'm serious. One story, nice house, HUGE backyard (you could get lost in the back yard, i am totally serious). Out door type of person, dirt bikes, and likes to go hunting. Yeah, you get the point. Others are gamers (you always have these), and varying degrees of southerness. Even, expecially, the girls. lol. Cow girl, says it all. Of course not all of them, but alot of them. "yea, ma dad i'll drive me up dere wid his pick-up, and we'll see de ol' rodio" (btw logan, how's daisy overcash doing? ^_~)
Ok, enough embarassing logan. But girls vs. guys on any sport is common over there. Where girls don't complain about how unfair it is and stuff. Where when guys hear the challenge actually have to think about backing down. Where its super competitive and guys are either on the brink of losing or on the brink of winning. Well, that's a rant, i'll do sometime. It was fun back there.
Then we have the snobs and the stupid people that ruins things. Oh did i mention we have tornado's and hurricanes over there. Lightening and thunder almost everytime it rains. Where skys turn really really really dark at noon, and the thunder is so loud that the table shakes. Where hail can get a bit bigger than a soft ball. Yeah, that was the good times. I remember hiding in the closet with a blanket because the thunder was so loud. I remember the tornado that was in the golf course right accross the street from our house. But it wasn't big enough to do much damage, nor was it big enough to be sustained for awhile. But i remember up rooted trees, and light posts not where they are supposed to be. Lol. And i remember playing and putting together the titanic 3d puzzle in the after school program and laughing and not caring even though the power had gone out, hail was starting to be as big as golf balls, and lightening and thunder all around.
That was some memories. You probably wouldn't like visiting there, unless you just want to meet some of my friends and see the school and the house where i grew up in. But probably most of you has either seen it, or doesn't care about it. lol. Well, a piece of my life. I'll probably do either Washington DC next, or Niagra Falls. I'll do a Disney World one when i feel like sharing about my family on the web. (Don't hold your breath, i don't like to talk about that stuff.)
Well hope you enjoy this W.A.R. and even though not alot was evaluation and stuff. But hey, i'm doing this from memory and i haven't been back there in 3 years. lol, have fun guys.
