Requirements for Graduation

A diploma is awarded to each student who completes his or her training providing all of the following requirements are met:

 

1.  Satisfactory progress in both written and practical work has been maintained and
     has achieved a grade point average of 75% or higher.

2.  Maintained a satisfactory attendance record throughout the course ( 67% or above ).

3.  All clinic work has been completed. Clinic work is evaluated by the instructor on 
     a satisfactory/unsatisfactory basis. No credit is given unless a satisfactory rating

     has been received.

4.  Complete tuition payments no later than the scheduled graduation date or payment

     arrangements must be made prior to the final phase of training.

5.  Final school examinations, both written and practical, are passed with a score of 80% or

     above. Final tests must be taken within 60 days before reaching completion.

 

Any student who does not conform to all of the above requirements will not be awarded a graduation diploma. Instead, he will receive a letter indicating his period of attendance in the course. 

 

If a student fails either final exam, it can be retaken at the next scheduled school final exam. A fee of $35.00 will be charged. If a third attempt is required, the school requires any student failing the written portion of the final exam to schedule a meeting with the Educational Coordinator to review the results. The school will certify to the appropriate agency all necessary records for the student to take the examination. Upon successful completion, of said State Board Exam, the appropriate agency will issue a Cosmetologist license to the student. 

 

Post Graduation

Upon completion of all graduation requirements, a student becomes eligible to take a State Board Examination. Scheduling for the exam should take place approximately six weeks before the actual exam date. An application for the exam, accompanied by a money order or certified check for $72.00 sent to "Schroeder Measurement Technologies, Inc." in East Lansing, Michigan. The examinations consists of two parts, written and practical. The written part must be passed with a minimum score of 75% out of a possible 100%, and the practical must be passed with 47 out of 65 scorable areas. These exams are administered bi-monthly.
