The
best times to see the blue whale.
It is possible to come across the blue whale at any time of the year in the St Lawrence river. It has been seen in the month of February, spouting between the ice floes. However the best period is between the end of July and the end of October. The "Blue" is present right up to the end of December but it is too cold to make observations. From the beginning of July to
the end of September, whenever weather permits, we go out three times a
day. At 9h,13h and 16h, It is also possible to go out at sunrise and at
sunset and even in moonlight. You just have to let us know the day before.
In September and October it is possible to spend the whole day on the water.
The first important group (6 to 10 whales) comes around the 25th of july.
This group is joined by other groups or replaced by other whales within
the group. On certain days we can see up to 30 different blue whales.
