Will House - Question and Answer Name: William John House. Nickname: Housey and anything more original the lads can come up with. Date of Birth: 16 March 1976. Place of Birth: Sheffield, Yorkshire. Brothers and Sisters: Charles (30) and Jamie (28). Marital Status & Children: Technically single (long-tern girlfriend Felicity). No kids. Schools Attended: British School in the Netherlands, The Hague Holland, Sevenoaks School, Kent. First cricket match: A fierce contest with my brothers in the back garden. Childhood Hero: Botham and Gower - '80s legends. Current Club: Sevenoaks Vine CC. First Class Debut: 1996 Cambridge University v Glamorgan, Fenners. Most embarrassing moment of career: Getting out in a second team game at Ashford and going into the showers to let off some steam in private. It turned out my choice of words to myself had reverberated round the entire ground! Most memorable moment of career: Scoring a 100 before lunch in my first completed first-class innings (Cambridge Uni v Derbys 1996). Cricket superstitions: Always put my right pad on first. What/whom has been biggest influence on your career: My Dad for seeing my potential and always supporting me. Also everyone who believes in me. Favourite ground apart from Hove: Fenners (some good memories) and Lord's (well it's just Lord's isn't it!). What would you like to change about cricket: Sometimes ending up on the losing side. Who is best shark to room with and why: Yet to find out! Who is the worst shark to room with and why: No one will ever be as bad as Min Patel - the man simply doesn't sleep and watches TV all night. What's the funniest thing to have happened to you in a cricket game: Knocking the bails off at the bowler's end four times in an over while bowling in a second team game. It really hurt, I didn't get any wickets and everyone else was wetting themselves. Who do you consider the best non-test player in championship cricket and why: I think Mark Ealham is a great steady performer and has more to offer to England than just playing one-day cricket. Who is the most under-rated player in English cricket: John Crawley, a seriously class act. Who do you think is the best batsman in the world and why: Tendulkar and Lara have genius but Steve Waugh is a fantastic player - especially when it is really needed. Who do you think is the best bowler in the world and why: Difficult to pick one from McGrath, Pollock, Warne, Saqlain and Muralitharan. If you weren't playing cricket what would you be doing with your life: Regretting not playing cricket and grinding away in the city probably. Who is your favourite sportsperson: Tiger Woods - a different class to this peers. Who is the person you'd most like to meet: Paul Whitehouse - he's hilarious. What's your favourite holiday destination: Italy. Favourite TV show: The Fast Show. Least favourite TV show: Watchdog - or anything with Anne Robinson. Favourite movie: Shawshank Redemption. Favourite actor/actress: Nicholas Cage. Favourite singer/band: Travis and Macy Gray. Favourite book/author: Archangel (Robert Harris). Favourite food/drink: Italian food and wine. Pet hates: Lack of effort. Other interests: Skiing, golf, football, rugby - pretty much any sport, history, holidays and eating nice food. Most valued possession: My Sussex contract! What would you like to be doing in 10 years: Playing my hundredth Test Match. Name one thing most people don't know about you: I can cook.
