	Life size freesia, carnations and rosebuds, with needlepoint and variegated ivy were assembled to attach to the spiral stand, framing a petal shaped cake with a piped pattern.
		Another cake completed by a student , is a modern design with a large spray of Amaryllis lilies, hypericum berries, roses and ivy.
	The decoration on this cake is very elaborate. The whole of the top of the cake is covered in a lace effect, with sugar swags and tails to finish it off.
		I traveled to Australia to do this cake for my nephew, and although the cakes were made to my recipe, I took all the other items with me, including 500 leaves and rose centers, which were packed in between layers of bubble wrap and polystyrene balls. It caused some amusement at the customs desk, as I had to unpack them, and hundreds of little balls cascaded onto the floor.
