WEDDING CAKES | |||
Not all people enjoy the richness of a fruit cake, and a sponge cake decorated in the traditional manner is a challenge. |

Blending traditional with modern, as in the choice of cake stand, is personal preference, and most designs can be used and adapted to a variety of new shape stands available for hire. | |||
A traditional Royal Iced cake, but with crystal sherry glasses used to support the tiers instead of the usual pillars. This enables me to place a rose inside each glass to add a little interest to the centre of the cake. |

Irish forefathers was the brief for this
cake, with English and American tones, so I used the typical
American styled stacked cake, a hand-made harp, with miniature orange
lillies, ivy and pearls, to represent the colours of the Irish flag, and
miniature red roses, for the English part.
The design was finished with drapes and rose bosses, gilded in an antique gold. |

Simple but sweet is the way I think of this cake, a double frill of sugar- paste, rising from the front to the back with a simple arrangement of lillies, rosebuds, and tiny blue flowers |

Perfectly plain , the flowers were everything on this cake. This cake was done by one of my students, for a very short notice wedding, where the bride was carrying orchids intermingled with freesia and roses. |
