Pin Hole Phone Cards Gallery
PLEASE EXERCISE PATIENCE, WHEN YOU VIEW SOME PAGES BECAUSE THEY HAVE A LOT OF CARDS (IMAGES) TO DISPLAY/DOWNLOAD INFORMATION: These cards are almost extinct and should be amongst collectors top item. They are usually made up of very thin plastic. The front side of it will have some kind of a picture and the back side has either 1, 2 or 3 (or more some times) thin magnetic strips which depict the price. Usually 1 strip is equivalent to value of 10th of a 100 (100/10) denomination. When the card is inserted into the telephone, the machine reads the total amount and allows you to make a call. Depending on the duration of the call, the machine in the telephone punches a hole on the number line (look at the image on the top left hand side to see the examples in 'gif' animation) to indicate how much of the total amount has been used (therefore allowing the other machines to be able to compute how much is available). If you make only one long call and exhaust all the amount, there will only be one hole at a certain precise location to indicate that you have already spent the whole amount (this is done before the card is ejected when you place the phone hand down). However, if you have made several calls, the machine will keep punching new holes and also widening other holes to reflect the used amount. IMPORTANTPLEASE read these two documents "Quick
