2.1.2.1.4.1.5.1. William
Ludson Worsham was born Petersburg, Dinwiddie Co., VA 18 Feb 1834 to
parents George Worsham and Martha Ann Wynn. His father died when he was six
years old. Martha moved the family to Garland, Arkansas to live with her father,
a well-known breeder of race
horses in Dinwiddie, VA and in Arkansas. The
grandfather, William Wynn, sent William Ludson Worsham to college in Virginia
where he obtained his law degree. He returned to Arkansas, was a member of the
Confederate Army, married Mary Fort White in 1865 then moved to Floresville,
Wilson Co., Texas where the couple raised five children. After opening up his
law offices, he soon became the County Judge. Judge Worsham was a leading
citizen of the community, having founded the Floresville Methodist Church and
becoming a member of the Masonic order which supported civic projects. Judge
Worsham passed away 15 Feb 1901 in Floresville, Texas. One of the eulogies at
his funeral services was delivered by Dr. John V. Blake Sr., who received fame
by being written up in the news column, "Believe-It-Or-Not" by Ripley
as having delivered 4500 babies and no triplets. Judge "Billy" Worsham
was beloved and respected by all in the community. Written by Janice Frost
(great grandniece). William Ludson picture from Janice Frost, 2000.

Pictured is Judith Bland b 10 Oct 1809 d/o Edward Bland
& Rebecca Jones. “I will tell you that Aunt Fanny Worsham always referred
to her mother, Judith Maria Bland as Judith Mariah. I have several engraved
silver items that were hers and the engraving shows an accent mark over the
final "a" of Maria. In fact, her silver baby cup is engraved with
just: "RIA`". She will go down in history as Maria not Mariah because
of the odd spelling and lack of accent mark.” (Kimberly
