Family is very large and it has become necessary to choose a numbering system to
identify each member. We hope the following explanation, will help make
our numbering system more clear.
To begin with, William Worsham is 1. as he is the oldest known Worsham and
his brother, George will be 2. Because William's wife, Elizabeth married
Francis Eppes after William died, she will be 3. Children receive a number
according to the order of their birth. For example: William & Elizabeth had
5 children. They will be numbered 1.1.; 1.2.; 1.3.; 1.4.; 1.5. George & Mary
had 1 child, George who would be 2.1.
Multiple marriages have been assigned a letter after the individuals name. For
example: 1.4.1B.3. indicates 4 is the 4th child of the oldest known ancestor.
1B indicates he was married twice. The 3 identifies the individual as being the
3rd child of a second marriage.
To trace ancestry of an individual, simply work backward dropping the last
number for each generation. For example: If an individual had a number
1.4.1.5.4.3., his parents would have the number 1.4.1.5.4. His
grandparents would have the number 1.4.1.5.

1.5.5.1.1.3.1. Julius Jefferson Worsham b abt 1835 Baldwin Co,
GA. (15-1850) On 24 Apr 1860 Josiah Hillsman of Crawford Co., GA sold to Jerrell
A. Cantrell & J. J. Worsham partners d/b/a Cantrell & Worsham Town Lot
#2 in the city of Oglethorpe, Macon Co, GA for $200. He was in the 1860 Macon
Co, GA Census as J. J. Worsham, age 24, Merchant in the residence of Virginia
Ellis, age 46, Farmer b GA & her daughter Mary V. Ellis, age 9 b GA. He
served in Co I 4th GA Inf during the Civil War. He enlisted 29 Apr 1861
Oglethorpe, GA for 1 year & was discharged 28 Apr 1862 Camp Jackson, VA, as
a 2nd lieut. He was on furlough in Jun 1861 on private business. On 15 Sep 1861,
he was admitted to Regimental Hospital 4 GA Vols with chills & fever.
In the City of Norfolk he was sworn before a Justice of the Peace:
"That on this Twenty Ninth day of April Anno Domini, one thousand eight
hundred and sixty two personally appeared before me, the subscriber, a Justice
of the Peace for the county aforesaid Lieut. J. J. Worsham and made oath on the
Holy Evangelist of Almighty God, in due form, that the annexed account amounting
to One Hundred Fifty Two Dollars and No Cents, is accurate and just; that he has
not received money in lieu thereof, for or during any part of the time therein
charged; that he actually employed and kept in service the horse charged for,
the whole of the time charged; that his place of residence is Oglethorpe,
Georgia and that he is not indebted or accountable to the Confederate States on
account of bounties or premiums, pay, contingencies, arms or accoutrements,
ammunition, stores, clothing, camp equipage, medicine or medical instruments, or
on any other account whatever. J. J. Worsham Lieut Co. I 4th GA Vols." He
made a marriage contract in Macon Co., GA on 5 Feb 1862 with Mrs. Virginia Ann
Ellis, widow of William Ellis, deceased. The marriage contract stated that
Virginia Ann Ellis possessed a considerable estate consisting of a house &
lot in Oglethorpe, Macon Co., GA; a tract of land in Russell Co., AL known as
the South West l/4 of Sec 21 in Twp 17 & Sec 30, containing 160 acres; also
8 acres of NW l/4 Sec.; household furniture, a carriage, buggy & horse. She
also had equal interest in 30 negroes bequeathed by her late husband, William
Ellis, to her and her daughter, Mary Virginia Ellis. Virginia appointed Julius
Jefferson Worsham, Trustee and he accepted. Witnesses included R. D. Worsham.
They were md 5 Feb 1862 Macon Co., GA by John H. Robinson, MG.
1.5.5.1.1.3.2. Robert D. Worsham b abt 1839 Crawford Co., GA. (12-1850;
21-1860) He enlisted in the Confederate Army 24 Jun 1861 at Macon Co., GA as a
pvt. In Co. K, 12th Reg't GA Infantry for 3 yrs. He was elected to the rank of
Lieutenant on 15 Jun 1861 in the Davis Rifles GA Vols. R. D. Worsham received
$85.33 pay in Richmond, VA 3 Aug 1861 and stated his place of residence as Macon
Co., GA. He also served in Co A 10th Bat GA during the Civil War. He enlisted 4
Mar 1862 Macon Co., GA. He was admitted with fever to Chimborazo Hospital, No.
2, Richmond, VA 7 Mar 1863. On 28 Apr 1863 he was transferred to Macon Co. He d
Oglethorpe, Macon Co., GA 9 May 1863. On this 7th day of August 1863 personally
came before me the subscriber, a Justice of the Peace, in and for the County
foresaid, David Worsham who after being duly sworn according to law, deposes and
says, that he is the father of Robert D. Worsham deceased who was a private of
Captain James D. Frederick Company A 10th Battalion of Georgia Volunteers,
commanded by Maj. Rylander (?) Of the Confederate States, in the War with the
United States, that the said Robert D. Worsham entered service at Oglethorpe in
Macon County and State of Georgia on or about the 4th day of March 1863, and
died of disease Macon County, GA on or about the 9th day of May 1863 leaving no
wife or child surviving him. That he makes this deposition for the purpose of
obtaining from the Government of the Confederate States, whatever may be due the
said Robert D. Worsham at the time of his death, for the pay, bounty, or other
allowance for his service as private aforesaid. Sworn to and subscribed before
me. David Worsham."

She was living with her mother in the 1870 Taylor Co., GA Census as Emma.
