There is a place in my heart,
With your name etched deep
A Sweet special place
Where my memories I keep.

I lock it up tightly
At the end of each day
Hold them securely
And put them away.

Each morning I awaken
To open it once more,
And find them all safe

Hello My Friend

There is no particular reason for this letter.
No forgotten birthday or anniversary.
It's just me sitting here, quietly
thinking about the important things
in my life and I thought of you...

And I wanted you to know,
that you are important to me.
My life, without you in it,

Friendship is a Strange Thing

It is by chance we met, by choice we became friends...
Friendship is a strange thing....
we find ourselves telling each other the deepest details of our lives...
things we don't even share with our families who raised us...
But what is a friend? A confidant? A lover? A fellow email junkie?
A shoulder to cry on? an ear to listen? a heart to feel?...
A friend is all these things...
and more. No matter where we met, ....
I call you friend. A word so small...yet so large in feeling...
a word filled with emotion.

It is true great things come in small packages.
Once the package of friendship has been opened, it can never be closed...
it is a constant book always written...
waiting to be read... and enjoyed.
We may have our disagreements...
we may argue... we may concern one another...
friendship is a unique bond that lasts through it all....

A part of me is put into my friends...
some it is my humor...
some it is my listening ear...
some it is real life experiences...
some it is my romanticism...
but with all, it is friendship.

Friendships forged are a construct stronger
than steel built as a foundation...
necessary for life...
and necessary for love.
Friends...you and me...
you brought another friend..
and then there were 3...
we started our group...
Our circle of friends...
and like that circle...
there is no beginning or end...

Everyone Needs Someone

People need people and friends need friends
And we all need love for a full life depends
Not on vast riches or great acclaim,
Not on success or on worldy fame,
But just in knowing that someone cares
And holds us close in their thoughts and prayers-
For only the knowledge that we're understood
Makes everyday living feel wonderfully good,
And we rob ourselves of life's greatest need

When we "lock up our hearts" and fail to heed
The outstretched hand reaching to find
A kindred spirit whose heart and mind
Are lonely and longing to somehow share
Our joys and sorrows and to make us aware
That life's completeness and richness depends
On the things we share with our loved ones
and friends.

Dear Friend

I'm reading more and dusting less.
I'm sitting in the yard and admiring the view
without fussing about the weeds in the garden.
I'm spending more time with my family and friends
and less time working.
Whenever possible,
life should be a pattern of experiences to savor,
not to endure.
I'm trying to recognize these moments now
and cherish them.

I'm not "saving" anything;
we use our good china and crystal for every special event such as losing a pound, getting the sink unstopped,
or the first Amaryllis blossom.
I wear my good blazer to the market.
My theory is if I look prosperous,
I can shell out $28.49 for one small bag of groceries.
I'm not saving my good perfume for special parties,
but wearing it for clerks in the hardware store
and tellers at the bank.
"Someday" and "One of These Days"
are losing their grip on my vocabulary.
If it's worth seeing or hearing or doing,
I want to see and hear and do it now.

I'm not sure what others would've done had they known that they wouldn't be here for the tomorrow that
we all take for granted.
I think they would have called family members
and a few close friends.
They might have called a few former friends
to apologize and mend fences for past squabbles.
I like to think they would have gone out for a
Chinese dinner,
or for whatever their favorite food was.
I'm guessing; I'll never know.

It's those little things left undone that
would make me angry if I knew my hours were limited. Angry because I hadn't written certain letters that
I intended to write one of these days.
Angry and sorry that I didn't tell my husband and parents often enough how much I truly love them.
I'm trying very hard not to put off, hold back, or save anything that would add laughter and luster to our lives. And every morning when I open my eyes,
I tell myself that it is special.
Every day, every minute, every breath
truly is a gift from God.

If you received this it is because someone cares for you.
If you're too busy to take the few minutes
that it takes right now to forward this,
would it be the first time you didn't do the little thing
that would make a difference in your relationships?
I can tell you it certainly won't be the last.

A reason, A season, A lifetime

People come into our life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.
When you figure out which it is, you will know exactly what to do.

When someone is in your life for a REASON,
it is usually to meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty,
to provide you with guidance and support,
to aid you physically, emotionally, or spirtually.
They may seem like a Godsend, and they are.
They are there for the reason you need then to be.
Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time,
this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die, Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up or out and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met,
our desire fullfilled; their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered and it is now time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON,
it is because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn.
They may bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
BELIEVE IT!!!! It is real!! But, only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons;
those you should build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.
Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person/people (anyway),
and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.
It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

There Were Times

There were times when I thought they would last forever.
Yet there were times when I thought they wouldn't.
But deep in my heart I knew it was something special.
I'd be up all night crying and obsessing over one wrong thing you said.
Yet I knew you would make it up tomorrow.
There was a special place I could go to when we talked.
Like my own sacred circle.
No one could touch or hurt me.
Separated from the whole world, forgetting all that had happened.
Focusing and indulging in every word you said.
Each word, sentence, line you would tell me would fill every inch of my heart
with gladness and love.
Being with you would make me feel that someone actually cared.
Someone would know what to say and when to say it.
What to do and when to do it.
Everytime a shooting star passed overhead all I could hope and wish for was
you, for you to be as happy as you could ever be, and to always have you
there to make me feel the way I do.
I felt on top of the world and nothings better than that.
To feel you could accomplish but everything.
And never feel pain.
My day could be nothing but bad and one hug or just one I Love You would turn
that day around.
Through the months the only thing that kept me going was knowing I would hear
your voice again.
Having our endless conversations that would leave me content and fulfilled at
the end.
Hours of talking about nothing would still have the same impact as a two
minute conversation.
The stars I said, look at the stars for me
Everynite I looked at the stars not the bugs, freezing temperatures, or
cloudy skys would keep me from thinking of you.
Nothing would stir me from my daydream filled with memories, thoughts, and
words.
Love would fill the air like a thick aroma of freshly baked apple pie.
Everynite I would dread that familiar feeling that would come when we'd have
our arguments.
A solid swelling sensation that seized my stomach with a tight grasp.
But after talking the feeling seemed to lift.
Know that I will love you always and forever....

COLOR OF LOVE...

I signed our names in the sand as to symbolize eternity of friendship.
I now sit here on the beach gazing out at the water.
The brilliant colors of the sunset capturing my eye, while visions of
you and I dance in my head.
The waves crashing against the sand remind me of our ups and downs.
I look up at the sky to give thanks that our friendship has grown
stronger through all of the hurdles.

A Friend of Innocence

I have a question. It's to someone that will know,
That to why my friend was taken,
Why did she have to go?
When the blood of hers was spreaded,
On the pavement road that day,
I hope she was 'Painless',
That one word I will pray!
To leave me here behind
Knowing all of her dreams,
I feel as though I'm all alone,
Sometimes as though it seems.
But when she was taken,
She was smiling back at me,
As though it was a prayer,
That God was answering.
The voices of hers echo,
They don't cry but yet they sing,
No she didn't banish,
She was lifted up by wings.
Yet I still don't understand,
Why she was the one the angels seeked,
At the moment she got hit,
Was she strong or was she weak?
So why did she have to go?
Those words just puzzle me,
I hope Heaven keeps their promise,
To take care of dear Emily...

Used To Be

I can remember the days when I used to be.
When I had no one to call.
Or say you were my one true bud.
Until you came along.
You called me your friend.
You let me go into your home.
You called me to see how I was doing.
When I was hurt you were there to make me better.
You made sure I was alright with everyhing we did.
We went to parks together.
We were best friends to the end.
When all this came true.
I had to leave.
Sad but true.
I miss you so.
Wish we can see each other again.
But this distance is out of hand.
We knew this was gonna happen,but not this soon.
But when I left that day.
I remember the tears in our eyes.
And our last Good-Byes.
Till this day I cry.
And wonder why?

When I Need You

When I needed you the most, you were always there.
When I was happy, you were always there to listen to me pour put my joy.
When I was sad, you were always there to hear me pour out my sorrow.
And when I just needed to someone to talk to,
you were always there to hear me talk about life and its wonders.
You were my closest friend, my best friend.
You were part of me, part of my soul. I do love you, I really really do love you.
It never occured to me that actually, deep down in your heart, you hated me.
Why didn't you tell me? Why? Why? Why?!
And I found out the reason one day-you did not want to hurt me.
I cried. I cried and cried and cried. I could not sleep, I could not eat.
Girl, is this the end of our friendship? Tell me no. Tell me no, nO, NO!!
I've learnt to live without you.
But you will aways and forever be my best friend,
and no matter what happens in future,
the joy you once gave me will always remain.
Thank you, friend. You taught me so very much.
I wish you all the best,
and hope that you will never forget you once had a friend---me.
And one day if you decide to forgive me, please, do tell me.
