FRIENDSHIP POEMS
Rose

To A Friend

You entered my life in a casual way,
And saw at a glance what I needed;
There were others who passed me or met me each day,
But never a one of them heeded.
Perhaps you were thinking of other folks more,
Or chance simply seemed to decree it;
I know there were many such chances before,
But the others-well, they didn't see it.

You said just the thing that I wished you would say,
And you made me believe that you meant it;
I held up my head in the old gallant way,
And resolved you should never repent it.
There are times when encouragement means such a lot,
And a word is enough to convey it;
There were others who could have, as easy as not-
But, just the same, they didn't say it.

There may have been someone who could have done more
To help me along, though I doubt it;
What I needed was cheering, and always before
They had let me plod onward without it.
You helped to refashion the dream of my heart,
And made me turn eagerly to it;
There were others who might have (I question that part)-
But, after all, they didn't do it!

FRIENDSHIP

FRIENDSHIP IS A PRICELESS GIFT
THAT CANNOT BE BOUGHT OR SOLD
BUT, IT'S VALUE IS FAR GREATER
THEN A MOUNTAIN MADE OF GOLD,
FOR GOLD IS COLD AND LIFELESS
IT CAN NEITHER SEE NOR HEAR
AND IN THE TIME OF TROUBLE
IT IS POWERLESS TO GIVE YOU CHEERS
IT HAS NO EARS TO LISTEN
NO HEART TO UNDERSTAND
IT CANNOT BRING YOU COMFORT
OR REACH OUT A HELPING HAND
SO WHEN YOU ASK GOD FOR A GIFT
BE THANKFUL IF HE SENDS
NOT DIAMONDS, PEARLS OR RICHES
BUT A PERSON YOU CAN ALWAYS
CALL A FRIEND

Only When...

Friendship is a rare jewel that shines,
Only when you give it a sunny smile
Friendship is a lock that opens,
Only when you unlock your true self to it
Friendship is a song, which is sung,
Only when you know its rhythm
Friendship is a dream, which comes true,
Only when you believe in it
Friendship is a sun, which rises,
Only when your heart has set on it
Friendship is a throne, on which you can sit,
Only when you share your kingdom with it
Friendship is a path, which you will find,
Only when you know you are lost
Friendship is a hand that holds yours,
Only when you extend yours
Friendship is an album of reminiscences, which you can leaf through,
Only when you cherish it
Friendship is a lamp, which lights,
Only when you know it will assuage your heart
Friendship is a lantern, which glows,
Only when you need the warmth of it
Friendship is a language, which you speak,
Only when you know the meaning of it
Friendship is a potpourri of feelings, which you can smell,
Only when you have a true friend…

Friendship

Friendship is the kind of love
that never can grow old.
Warm and cozy it will stay
when other things are cold.
Friendship is a love so true
it won't be denied,
Because a friend will always be
there close by your side.
Boyfriends and lovers come and go
in this game of life we play,
But a true friend, no matter what,
in your heart will always stay.
So hold these friends dear to you,
and never let them go.
Think how much they mean to you,
and make sure to tell them so.

Friendship

My dearest foolish friend, will you never learn
Will you never learn to trust in our friendship
Will you never understand what friendship is
Are you so very untrusting, so withdrawn
that you cannot see what is right in front of you

Can you not see that real friends never turn away
Never abandon the other during times of crisis
Never seek to hurt the other, nor give pain at any time
Friends are those that bond together and stay together
The truest of friends share their innermost secrets
the good, bad and ugly that others would not understand

A friend will never judge or make the other
feel less than what they truly are
A friend wants only what is best for the other
and always forgives life's little mistakes
Never lessening who and what they are
Never trying to change what cannot be changed

A friend treasures all that is given to them
in words, thoughts, feelings and expressions of the heart
Only one that cares will listen to your deepest thoughts
only a friend will hold these things to their heart
and know that they are special because they are from you

These things and oh so much more
are what the truest, purest form of friendship are about
A friend will give strength in your weakest moments
be your rock and strongest ally never waning
A friend will be there for you
in this time and space and even into the afterworld

So dearest friend, treasure what you have
never take it for granted, never assume
never be anything but what you are - a friend
special because you are who you are.

True Friendship

Friendship is something that grows through the years
Withstanding feelings of anger, joy and tears
It is something you cannot live without
A friend you can turn to when in doubt
They should listen carefully and not speak a word
For you would do the same when they want to be heard
A person you can confide in, learn from and trust
This is a friend and everyone must
Be able to have someone just like this
Not a boyfriend to hug, cuddle and kiss
But a person so special, faithful and true
The only one I can think of is a person like you
Our friendship is strong, healthy and great
Through the years I see its wonderful fate
A fate of laughs, greatness and fun
We have only one life to live and this is the one
The past- full of memories that runs through my head
The bad ones never talked about or said
Every moment of life should glisten with fresh morning dew
This reminds me of the greatest friendship one ever knew.

To My Sister

There are special angels,
you will encounter here in life,
and lift you up above your fight.
They whisper a prayer softly for you,
Whether they are near or far away,
and somehow they always know all the right things to say.
They have a smile and a look in their eyes,
that light up every corner of your heart,
and they love you as their own,
they have a gentle way about them,
that makes it feel like home.
They can see the shadows in your life,
that noone else could find,
and chase away that shadow, till it's only joy they find.
Everytime you think of them,
It feels like Heaven smiling down,
There is a certain glow around them,
and you know without a doubt,
this is an angel you have found.
You may find yourself wondering,
how do i deserve the honor,
of this angel in my life,
don't question God's blessing,
Just seek out His face,
Jesus paid the price for us,
and He blessed us in it's place.
There are special angels,
You will encounter throughout life,
i believe that with all my heart,
i know and i praise God everyday,
because you have been mine.

Angels

Life is a journey,
a journey that takes us down many roads.
Some good and some not so good.
But as we travel we learn, grow, and meet
people that make those journies all worth the travel.
Those kind of people in a way are like
Angels.
With them we find comfort in the arms of our
Angels.
Friends come and go,
and from each one we learn more aboout our selves.
We see our weakness are strengths
from the eyes of another.
But the ones that stay and inprint our hearts are the ones we keep close and safe within,
like an Angel.
And there we find comfort in the arms of our
Angels.

So I write this message with love and thanks.
For you have touched my life,
watched me fall,
and you raised me up like an
Angel
sent from God.
And that is where I always found my comfort.
In the arms of my Angel,
and her name was
Annaliese.

Friend Indeed

A friend is someone to share your whole day with,
someone to wish on a star,
a friend is someone to laugh 'till your crying,
one with to walk very far,
A friend is someone who won't tell your secrets,
a friend is somebody fair,
a friend is someone to share a big sundae,
someone to French braid your hair,
a friend is someone to make you happy,
when your very blue,
a friend is someone who teaches you things like how to tie your shoe,
a friend is someone who's always there for whatever you may need,
a friend is someone who you love, a freind is a friend indeed.

Friends

A friend is someone true and for real,
A friend is someone who means a great deal.
A friend won't hurt you,
A friend won't lie,
A friend will never permanantly say good-bye.
A friend is there through the good times and bad,
A friend is there to cheer you up when your sad.
A friend is always there with a shoulder to cry on,
A friend is always there that you can rely on.
So, friend if you ever need someone honest and true,
Just remember ill always be here for you .

Friends

Friends are there until the end,
They're always themselves, no pretend.
They're not afraid to be seen with you,
They will never betray you.
Friends never tell secrets they promise to keep,
they make you feel good about yourself in times of weep.
They come and cheer for you at your games,
In a friend there is no shame.
Friends are there to listen when you're depressed,
They are the people you should know best.
Friends are like presents you open again and again,
Always are with you through thick and thin.

WE NEED EACH OTHER

We need each other...
In times of private pain,
of fear and stress;

We need each other...
to share our joys,
our times of happiness;

We need each other...
to hold on and be strong, and
encourage when things are going wrong;

We need each other...
to keep the faith and love,
and remind each other of all
the things we're dreaming of;
We need each other... now and
always.

"BE MY FRIEND"

"My life is just for friends..
I will never know the world if I am just alone, with no body speak to me, with no body invite me to the birthday party, to the cinema, to the "sale" market, and to anywhere..
I will never have a problem if I never fight with my friends, but I will always in trouble when I have no friends..
I will never feel happy or sad if I never share something together with my friends..
I will have nothing to remember if I just sit and sad because I have no friend
I will never meet a perfect guy to be my husband if I don't have any friends..
I will totally crazy if I don't have friends..
So please.. please.. Be my friend.. be my good friend, be my best friend.. past all events together.. please don't betray me..please don't make me dissapointed.. Please...
Just remember me if you want to share something, just call me if you are confuse who you can chat to, just take me go if you have no body to go somewhere, just order me to sing your song when you forget the words,
just invite me if you have a party and dont know who else you could invite..
Just always take a note of ME in your life.. now and forever.. from you
know me till you die..
Cause I am just a human being, who love to be loved and love to love my
friends..

LITTLE

Remember when you were little
And the colors danced in your head
You picked out your favorite one
A deep crimson red

Remember when you were little
And you shouted out with glee
As you and your color laughed
Both happy as can be

Remember when you were little
And your color went away
Your sad little sobs filling the world
As you walked off alone to play

Remember when you were little
And it came in a sudden attack
When you realized that your color
Was never coming back

Remember when you were little
And you shouted out above
I wish I'd allowed myself
Just for once to feel love!

PINK

Here you stand, my friend,
as our lives embrace through Heaven's pastel love,
the comfort and compassion of Yahweh's smile,
painted softly across your face.
You dream,
you hope,
you walk,
together with me through God's world of restoration,
sacrificial red blended with pure, white snow,
a serene, pink Paradise,
beyond the rainbow's edge.
How pleasant and refreshing is your healing touch,
that flows from a patience like the Master's Himself.
How ready you are to set aside your regular concerns,
to gently hold my weary, confused heart,
and color me once more with joy.
With such deep yet simple grace you hear,
you listen,
you care,
you understand,
you accept me in all I am and am not,
filling me with the ease of a flower,
friendship's new, pink bud.
O precious heart how free we dance,
through Heaven's fields of rest.

NEAR

How glad I am to feel you near,
to have as you a friend of common Faith,
to open up my heart to one not too afraid to look,
or too displeased to care,
but one who peers with interest rapt into the center of my soul.
How pleasant here to feel your voice role over me like the sea,
bright and fresh as a summer afternoon.
whose thoughts draw my anxious eyes as a rainbow in the sky.
Oh, the joy unearned to gaze into a mind so pure,
a model of the holy life, next to me as in the war,
or just to rest in silence savoring our tender tie.
Oh, to sit so close to one who knows my good and bad,
and chooses still my side.
now to share that clean, unselfish, flame of nearer inner bonds,
the soft embrace of hearts who truly care.

TOUCH

I feel your touch, my friend,
the spontaneous song of your love for me.
It sounds with a soft tap,
a playful swat,
a pure embrace.
And in Your silent tones You sing of the Spirit's tie.

Here we stand together,
our union in His kingdom displayed by thoughtful hands,
the bond in the work shown by the closeness of our walk,
And in this chilly, violent world,
we warm and guard ourselves with the other's care,
throwing off our fears in playful games of silly rest.

Yet in the deepest cavity of our heart,
the place where feelings pass the realm of words,
we simply savor the gifts of our loving God.
Let us now share His music,
the unspoken chords and the fluid melodies,
the mysterious power to draw our spirits near,
and pull us toward the One who brought us close.

"New Beginnings"

There is a beginning for every thing
and a friendship is one of the best
Because with it comes a new insight
and new thoughts to put to the test

A new friendship brings excitement
opening minds with things to share
Comparing notes from yesteryear
with an attitude of devil may care

It can also brighten the future
and refresh stale ideas put on hold
It can pave a rutted highway
with a friendship worth more than gold

A new friendship can fill a void
and move clouds so the sun shines through
Spotlighting a part of you very few understand
with appreciation for what you do

Yes God can work in mysterious ways
and we think it came out of the blue
But it's him who gives new beginnings
and this one was the introduction to you

"I'm Here For You"

Hey little buddy I'm here for you
any time or any place
I know you have a decision to make
I'll be your sounding board in any case

I know sometimes it's hard to think
when your future's all at stake
And that's the time for a helping hand
to avoid a costly mistake

I have a good ear that listens
and a heart that wishes you well
so use it to your advantage
let me hear the story you have to tell

I'll listen to you all through the day
if need be throughout the night
For you're facing an important decision
and you have to get it right

So talk to me little buddy
talk to your hearts content
Don't worry about the time it takes
to me it's time well spent

A Friends Greeting

I'd like to be the sort of friend that you have been to me;
I'd like to be the help that you've been always glad to be;
I'd like to mean as much to you each minute of the day
As you have meant, old friend of mine, to me along the way.

I'd like to do the big things and the splendid things for you,
To brush the gray from out your skies aad leave them only blue;
I'd like to say the kindly things that I so oft have heard,
And feel that I could rouse your soul the way that mine you've stirred.

I'd like to give you back the joy that you have given me,
Yet that were wishing you a need I hope will never be;
I'd like to make you feel as rich as I, who travel on
Undaunted in the darkest hours with you to lean upon.

I'm wishing at this Christmas time that I could but repay
A portion of the gladness that you've strewn along my way;
And could I have one wish this year, this only would it be:
I'd like to be the sort of friend that you have been to me.

Friendship after Love

After the fierce midsummer all ablaze
Has burned itself to ashes, and expires
In the intensity of its own fires,
There come the mellow, mild, St. Martin days
Crowned with the calm of peace, but sad with haze.
So after Love has led us, till he tires
Of his own throes, and torments, and desires,
Comes large-eyed friendship: with a restful gaze,
He beckons us to follow, and across
Cool verdant vales we wander free from care.
Is it a touch of frost lies in the air?
Why are we haunted with a sense of loss?
We do not wish the pain back, or the heat;
And yet, and yet, these days are incomplete.

A Friend Like You

There's lots of things
With which I'm blessed,
My problems have been few,
But of all, this one's the best:
To have a friend like you.

In times of trouble
Friends will say,
"Just ask, I'll help you through it."
But you don't wait for me to ask,
You just get up and do it!

And I can think
of nothing more
That I could wisely do,
Than know a friend,
And be a friend,
And have a friend like you.

A Friend is a Treasure

A friend is someone we turn to
When our spirits need a lift,
A friend is someone we treasure
For our friendship is a gift,
A friend is someone who fills our lives
With beauty, joy, and grace
And makes the world we live in
A better and happier place.

Friendships Flower

Life is like a garden
And friendship like a flower,
That blooms and grows in beauty
With the sunshine and the shower.

And lovely are the blossoms
That are tended with great care,
By those who work unselfishly
To make the place more fair.

And, like the garden blossoms,
Friendship's flower grows more sweet
When watched and tended carefully
By those we know and meet.

And, if the seed of friendship
Is planted deep and true
And watched with understanding,
Friendship's flower will bloom for you.

You may be like Jack Horner and "chisel" a plum,
And think you're a wonderful guy,
But the man in the glass says you're only a bum
If you can't look him straight in the eye.

You can fool the whole world down the pathway of years,
And get pats on the back as you pass,
But your final reward will be heartaches and tears
If you've cheated the guy in the glass.

Love and Friendship

Love is like the wild rose-briar,
Friendship like the holly-tree—
The holly is dark when the rose-briar blooms
But which will bloom most contantly?

The wild-rose briar is sweet in the spring,
Its summer blossoms scent the air;
Yet wait till winter comes again
And who wil call the wild-briar fair?

Then scorn the silly rose-wreath now
And deck thee with the holly's sheen,
That when December blights thy brow
He may still leave thy garland green.

New Friends and Old Friends

Make new friends, but keep the old;
Those are silver, these are gold.
New-made friendships, like new wine,
Age will mellow and refine.
Friendships that have stood the test-
Time and change-are surely best;
Brow may wrinkle, hair grow gray,
Friendship never knows decay.
For 'mid old friends, tried and true,
Once more we our youth renew.
But old friends, alas! may die,
New friends must their place supply.
Cherish friendship in your breast-
New is good, but old is best;
Make new friends, but keep the old;
Those are silver, these are gold.

Love and Friendship

The birds, when winter shades the sky,
Fly o'er the seas away,
Where laughing isles in sunshine lie,
And summer breezes play:
And thus the friends that flutter near,
While fortune's sun is warm,
Are startled if a cloud appear,
And fly before the storm.
But when from winter's howling plains,
Each other warbler's past,
The little snow bird still remains,
And chirrups midst the blast.
Love, like that bird, when friendship's throng
With fortune's sun depart,
Still lingers with its cheerful song,
And nestles on the heart.

Rainbows

If I could catch a rainbow
I would do it just for you.
And share with you it's beauty
On the days you're feeling blue.
If I could build a mountain
You could call your very own.
A place to find serenity
A place to be alone.
If I could take your troubles
I would toss them in the sea.
But all these things I'm finding
are impossible for me,
I cannot build a mountain
Or catch a rainbow fair
But let me be...what I know best,
A friend that's always there.

Thank You Friend

I never came to you, my friend,
and went away without
some new enrichment of the heart;
More faith and less of doubt,
more courage in the days ahead.
And often in great need coming to you,
I went away comforted indeed.
How can I find the shining word,
the glowing phrase that tells all that
your love has meant to me,
all that your friendship spells?
There is no word, no phrase for
you on whom I so depend.
All I can say to you is this,
God bless you precious friend.

To Meet Old Friends

Somehow, meeting old friends
and embracing them with your heart
is like the 'warmth of a home fireside'
and the 'loveliness of a rose garden.'
All the vexations and irritations of a busy day
were softened by the remembrance
of that 'shining hour'
we spent together this morning.

Friendship in school

Friends in high school are forever young.
Unchanged, they're where you always will belong.
The crowd is never gone, the pleasure stays,
The music of the moment always plays,
The time remains a field of wistful grace
To which you may return from anyplace.
Of course, you may still know them later on
When you are someone else and years have run;
And you may love them dearly, and they you,
But time must make their friendship something new.
Meanwhile, flourishing within your heart
There is a whole, of which you were a part:
A group of friends, one in love and pain,
In whom your longing comes alive again.

Feelings

Just as a wave is lifted by the shore,
Then breaks across the slowly rising sand,
So as I watch you weep my feelings pour
Across the wash of what I understand.
I wish I could just take you in my arms
And all your pain could melt into my chest,
And all the violence of passing storms
Could pass through me and finally come to rest.
No words can set things right or presence lend
A miracle to light your darkened way,
But there is solace in a loving friend
And comfort in what I don't have to say.
Whatever circumstance you cannot bear,
Just turn to me, and you will find me there

Old 'n' Gold

Old and good friends share a piece
Of passion, pain, and pleasure
That no one else, no family can
Begin to know or treasure.
It's as if a secret room
Held their private store,
And every time they met, they could
Go through some special door.

It doesn't matter if they see
Each other every day,
Or years and years go by before
They come and go away:

The moment that they meet it all
Is there--the memories of
Fierce loyalty and times of need
And gratitude and love.

Just Being Friends

"Friendship happens in that special moment
when someone reaches out to another,
trusts, comforts, believes in another,
and makes a special difference
that no one else can make".

Soul's Treasure

A Friend is a Treasure
A friend is someone we turn to,
when our spirits need a lift.
A friend is someone we treasure,
for our friendship is a gift.
A friend is someone who fills our lives,
with beauty, joy and grace.
And make the world we live in,
a better and happier place

Heart's content

I love you as my closest, dearest friend.
Boys and girls can be just closest friends.
There is no passion greater than the one
That touches not the body but the heart.
You mean much more to me than someone who
I date and undate, want and then don't want.
They're the waves, and you are like a shore
Where I can sit and watch them kiss the sand.

I'm sorry I can't be with you today,
When you should rule by virtue of your birth.
Please accept this tribute of mere words,
Poor substitute for all I am and have

A Friend

A friend is like a shade tree
Beside a summer way.
A friend is like the sunshine
That makes a perfect day.
A friend is like a flower
That's worn close to the heart.
A friend is like a treasure
With which one will not part.

A Friend Always Remain In Each Other's Hearts.

A Friend is someone who listens
without judging you right or wrong, good or bad,
and gently helps you define your thoughts
to regain perspective.
When you're feeling bad about yourself,
a friend is there to remind you
of all those positive qualitites
you may have forgotten.
When you share with a friend,
decision-making becomes easier
and problems seem less critical.
A friend gives you the priceless gift of time:
time to share, to try out new ideas
and rethink old ones.
No matter how often you're together,
you discover dimensions of yourself
through the bonds and the mirror of friendship.
A friend loves you for who you are,
not what you do.
Feeling so accepted,
you are able to set higher goals,
try harder, and achieve more.
Through close friendship,
you learn the fine art of giving.
You expand, become more selfless,
feel more deeply, and help more effectively.
Seeing the happiness you bring to another person
gives you a greater sense of well-being
and increases your capacity to love.
Wherever you go in life,
whatever stage or place you reach,
a friend who has entered your soul
is always with you, gently guiding, faithfully following,
and ever walking beside you.

Friends Are Always A Part Of You...

After a while you learn
that what you really are
is all the experiences
and all the thoughts
you've ever had
and all the people
who have touched your life,
no matter how briefly.
After a while you learn
that troubles are temporary
and relationships
aren't always permanent.
You learn that many people
come into your life
and fade into forgetfulness,
while others remain
as warm places in your heart.
You learn to forgive the bad times
and overcome the resentments.
And you learn to live
with love in your heart
for the good times
and for the good friends
who may not be present,
but who never go away,
because the warmth of their friendship
and their essence lives within you
and becomes a part of what you are.

True Friend

There are many people
that we meet in our lives
but only a very few
will make a lasting impression
on our minds and hearts
It is these people that we will
think of often
and who will always remain
important to us
as true friends
