The sixth child of Samuel and Sarah Hinton McClung was b. 1814 in Greenbrier Co., WV (1850c, 94) He was married 1) Malinda Nutter. Five children. He md 2) Lydia M Querry abt 1842. They lived next to Nathaniel Quarry who must have been Lydia's brother. The children from the first marriage were not taken into this family.

Lydia QUERRY married John Duffy MCCLUNG on 1848.

The ninth child of John Duffy and Lydia Querry McClung was b. 16 Aug 1854. He md Sarah Miram Maloney 22 Aug 1882 (N Mg, Bk 1, p. Mc). (She was b. 22 Feb 1858 in Nicholas Co. to Patrick and Nancy Reynolds Maloney; d. 19 Jan 1923). They resided at Kessler's Cross Lanes, WV. They had six children. Adolphus died 7 Dec 1935 and is buried at Dotson Cem, Nicholas Co. (Submitted by Ruby [Mrs. Lee] Dooley of Pinehurst, TX)

The third child of Robert Thompson and Susan Maria McClung was b. 11 Feb 1853 in Nicholas Co., WV. He md Charlotte Shepherd Amick. They resided at Hominy Falls, WV. They had eight children. (AFN: 4Z8Q-D2) He died 23 Jun 1851 and was buried in the End of the Trail Cem, Clintonville, WV (JG).

The sixth child of William and Margaret Bollar McClung was b. 19 May 1809 in Williamsburg Dist.of Greenbrier Co. He md 1) 18 Apr 1833 Rebecca Burr (Gr Mg, 42) (She b. 12 June 1807 to Aaron Burr and Rebecca Collins Burr; d. 23 Mar 1882). They are recorded in the 1850 census of Greenbrier Co. with six children. (1850c Gr, 15) They had eight children. (Note: This Aaron Burr was b. abt 1776 in Connecticut and came to Greenbrier 1780-5. He died in 1834. Rebecca Collins Burr was born in Hampshire Co., VA and died abt 1852)

John md 2) 13 Sep 1882 to Eliza S. R. Burr (b. 24 Sep 1847 to Aaron Burr, Jr. and Margaret McMillion Burr) They had three children. John died 19 Jan 1900.

The fourth child of Wilson and Charlotte S. Amick McClung was b, 9 Jan 1883 at Carl, Nicholas, WV. She md Charles N. Amick. (AFN:4Z8Q-T9) This marriage was on 6 Mar 1906 (N Mg). Charles was b. 1883 to Rooklin and Akin (Anderson) Amick. They had ten children.

The child of John and Rebecca Bratton McClung was b. 1826 at Bath Co., VA. He md Susan G. Crawford before 1860. (She was b. abt 1831.) William Harvey inherited his grandfather's farm. (See Will of John, Jr.) John left William Harvey "the plantation I now live on.". William H. then sold the "old John McClung Farm" (400 acres) to Willis Kincaid (Weaverville, Trinity Co., CA, DB11:394, dated 30 June 1853.
William H. enlisted 21 Mar 1862 at Meem's Bottom in the 5th VA Infantry. He was a Private in Co. D. He was mortally wounded at Cedar Creek 19 Oct 1864. He was buried at Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church Cemetery at Deerfield. He had one son. After his death, Susan md 2) Samuel Gold in 1872.

Pernicia had three children, Mary, who married Franklin Quarry; Sally who married Wade McClung and had three children, and Alfred, who never married.
Lorenzo had four children, Roosevelt, who is in the service, Charles, unmarried; Arabelle who married Charles Nutter, and Esta who married Joe Craft.

John Amick, … Enlisted in the Confederate Army in 1863 or 1864 at Lewisburg, West Virginia; captured and held prisoner of war, at Camp Chase, near Cincinnati, Ohio; was exchanged in Baltimore, Md., shortly before Lee surrendered and eventually got back to his home community.

He was a farmer, owning 150 acres of land near Carnifex Ferry. He served as constable for four years. Member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Supt. of Sunday School for three years. Three years President of the Ministers' Institute of Hopewell Assn. They had eleven children.

Elizabeth Jane EVENS was born 1843. She died 1927. Elizabeth married George Newman MCCLUNG on 1862.

He md 2) 4 Jan 1877 Mary Magdalene Champ (b. 25 Sep 1854). William was a prosecuting attorney four years. He was later a Justice of the Peace and a deputy surveyor. He was president of the Board of Education for four years, and Notary Public. Eleven children.
