Easy Candy From Monsters

A fairly easy way to get candy from most any monster is this: Quick Attack x 2, Tackle the monster all the way to the other side of the screen.

Consecutive Thrust Attacks

You can do several Thrust attacks in a row if you toggle between forward on the directional pad and the Square button.You have to be fairly quick with your toggling though not so fast that your whole body starts to spasm. This is especially nice when you have a special Plunge Attack like "Chaotic Avenger" or "Green Princess" as your Thrust.

High Stats

Ultimania offers two suggestions for developing a character with high stats by using different weapons for a certain number of levels.

Determining Weapon Strength w/Essences

I haven't played around too much with this but it seemed to work pretty accurately the few times I tried it. It basically lets you calculate what kind of attack power your weapon will have with any given number of essence levels.
Current Attack Power × [ (Growth Control # + Total Number of Essences) ÷ Growth Control # ]
Note: this doesn't work so well on rare treasure weapons since they've been enhanced somewhat already.
