Xylara's New Home

"Come faeries, take me out of this dull world, for I would ride with you upon the wind and dance upon the mountains like a flame!"................W.B. Yeats

Hi, as you may have guessed by now, I am a fairy. For a long time Lynne thought I was just a figment of her imagination, but with a little gentle fairy persuation, she is now well aware that I am real. Now I'm not saying I had to use physical force, but a few prods with my fairy wand didn't hurt any.

So here we are. First, let me tell you a little about myself and where I live. I live far, far away in an enchanted land. My home is in Whispering Woods, beneath an elm tree. My house is in a magical mushroom patch amongst a bed of pansies.

This is a picture of my house.

I came to this forest a long time ago while I was out gathering herbs and flowers, and it seemed so peaceful and quiet,I decided to move here. I found my new house quite by accident. I was checking out the pansies and ran right into it. It was perfect! It was hidden in the pansies, but with enough sun shining through to make it bright and cheerful. It HAD been vacated by someone else, though it did look like they had left in a bit of a hurry! I had pots, pans, even a nice soft blanket for my bed. I didn't stop to question why, I just flew,(I do FLY, you know), back to my old home, got my belongings, and moved right in! My house is actually a mushroom, you see, but there is a lot of room inside. That's 'cause fairy mushrooms are magic, of course. I have two new friends that live by my house. One is a ladybug and she is very pretty. And the other is her best friend "Sluggy", he's a snail. They don't talk much, but sit patiently by and listen to me.

The woods are full of pines and elms and all kinds of wonderful plants. There are fields to play in and streams to splash in. This is a picture of our favorite playground!

I have made lots of new friends here, but have met some obnoxious characters, too. Come Back for more of my adventures here in the Whispering Woods!
