Welcome, Xylara!
"By the moone, we sport and play,
With the night begins our day;
As we daunce, the dew doth fall;
Trip it, little urchins all.
Lightly as the little bee.
Two by two, and three by three,
And about go wee, and about go wee.
from "A Midsummer's Night Dream" by William Shakespeare
"HELLO, WORLD!
My name is Xylara and I am a fairy. I live in the Whispering Woods beneath a bed of pansies under an elm tree.
I use the flowers and herbs of the forest to brew my love potions and make the fairy dust that I plan to take with me on my excursions into the real world.
Here in the woods you can hear the whisper of the pines above your head.
If you listen closely enough you may hear the laughter of the faeries as they scramble away and hide from you; or as they are preparing to play a trick upon you!
You find find a wise old woman (fairy?) hard at work in her cottage. If she likes you, she may share a spell or potion with you.
(Or she may EAT you! HeHeHe!) You might also find a castle or two there in the Whispering Woods. That is where I found my poor Zorf.
He was just an egg then, thrown out by the guards because his mom ate their dinner. They were not too happy about that, and I had to be very careful.
I assured his mom I would take very good care of him and she assured me he would protect me forever.
Now, let me remind you, not many faeries have dragons for pets.....but I will tell you more about our escapades later.
This is Zorf on the miraculous day that he finally hatched! Oh, was he surprised......and scared! We had a hard time convincing him that we could take care of him. The day we took him home from the cave, he tried to run away twice, and you should have seen me and seven of my friends pulling and coaxing a seven pound dragon to come home with them!
I dare those mean old men to try to take him away from me. Will they have a surprise! Now tell me...if you came upon this ferocious dragon in the woods, what would you do!!
oh...uh...maybe not! But we're working on that!
