And now for the series that blow the anime stereotype out of the water, Dragonball and Dragonball Z! There is no other anime or manga with a style even CLOSE to this one (that I've come across, anyway). So get ready to ignore everything else you've learned here. Oh, and since Vegeta (or Vejita, or Vejiita, or however you choose to spell it) is my favorite DBZ character (tied for absolute favorite of all time, with Duo of course), how could I help but draw him first?
General Notes:
- Fortunately for us, the Dragonball formula is pretty much standard for every single character. If you can draw one, you can probably draw another.
- Keep in mind that younger and more innocent characters (there were a lot more of those before the Freeza arc) use softer, rounder lines; characters that are more powerful and more likely to vaporize an entire planet use harder, diagonal lines and angles. This applies to more characters after Goku first goes SSJ, for some reason. Watch and you'll notice! With the spikier hair comes longer, more angular chins, noses that are filled in underneath, and a LOT more cross-hatching.
- If you plan on doing larger drawings and you don't color with the computer, I recommend investing in a dip pen, a little brush, and a bottle of ink. I use them for almost everything, but they're especially good at capturing the Dragonball style. And the brush helps fill in those massive black areas in hair, eyebrows, and boots. That way you're not sitting there scribbling for hours on end, until you end up with a hole in your paper. Not cool.

Um...okay, how good does this look. I'm an obsessive Dragonball fan, and I don't even know the address of one good image or screen cap gallery. ^_^;; If you know of one, please please please tell me!
