Status of organization: non-profit, social organization.
Mission of organization: growing generation health protection, sanitation of society.
Principles of activity: anonymity and confidentiality. Taking into account and meeting the needs and demands of the customers. Flexibility and dynamics. Cooperation and development.
Staff of organization: At present staff of organization consists of the trained specialists with work experience in the following spheres:
- Addiction therapy – drugs, alcohol, tobacco.
- Organization of street work – exchange of needles and squirts, consulting, prevention of breakdowns, training with the principle – equal to equal, social services.
- Consulting – psychological, medical (gynecologist, venerologist, urologist), pre- and post-testing consultations on HIV, legal assistance.
- Training on the issues of drug and HIV prevention, safe behavior, safe sex and injection drugs use, training of trainers.
- Organization and conducting public cultural and sporting activities within the city and region.
In 1998 the organization expanded the spectrum of its services provided to the residents of Khujand city and Sughd Region from 2 to 30 kinds by establishing new branches with specialized services and by increasing the number of the customers involved. Below is the scheme of services provided to local residents for treatment, social rehabilitation and prevention of HIV/AIDS among drug addicts:
Over the period from 2001 to 2004 members of organization participated 96 specialized trainings with regard to drug addiction problems, Harm Reduction Program, HIV and ITG prevention, advocacy of the rights and interests of HIV-infected people, organization of NGO’s activity, psychological consulting and pre- , post-testing consulting on HIV, methods of work with Mass Media representatives and law enforcement agencies, social rehabilitation.
