All other trails are open to dogs. There are litereally hundreds of miles of trails to choose from. Some of my favorite hikes are:

    • Byrds Nest #4 - North of MP 27 - A nice wooded hike up to a picnic shelter.
    • White Oak Canyon - Cedar Run - MP 45 - A steep but beautiful hike along a scenic stream. Many waterfalls, from quiet to breathtaking highlight this hike.
    • Hawksbill - MP 46.7 - A relatively short climb to a 360 degree view from the highest peak in the park. It's one of the best spots to birdwatch during the raptor migrations.
    • Lewis Spring Falls - MP 51.4 - A fairly steep hike down to an 80 ft waterfall.
    • Blackrock - MP 84 - One of the most unique hikes in the park. Huge slabs of rock line the trail like walls of a ruined castle. A very dramatic and wild area of the park.
    • Turk Mountain - MP 94.1 - A climb to a rocky outcropping with a 360 degree view of the park and valley. The last bit of the hike requires some scrambling over rock.
