crack your knuckles

Trick = You start to crack your knuckles. First, it's a slight crack, then another. Then, you grab hold of your middle finger and the loudest, most gut-wrenching P*O*P is heard. You sigh loudly as you watch the faint-of-heart fall at your feet.
Preparation = At least one person you'd like to gross-out. Also, the ability to finger-snap.
Method = Before you do some magic, you tell your friend, you need to relax your fingers. 
First, if you can, crack a few knuckles just to get the attention on you. Leave the middle finger of the left hand alone as this is the finger you will "crack" last.
When you are ready to pop that middle finger, here's what you do:
With both hands palm down, allow your left middle finger to drop a little below your other fingers and wrap your right hand (palm-down) around it.
Now, while pretending (and I mean pretending!) to pop that knuckle, snap the fingers of your right hand while your hand is wrapped around that finger. (The finger snap takes place below the hands so nothing is seen.)
It will look and sound as if you've just dislocated your middle finger and, if the sound is loud enough, your friend's eyes will roll up into his head.

Trick = The magician has a card selected at random. Next the card is lost. Finally the magician takes a cigarette or piece of coal and rubs it on his arm. Then in clear view of the rubbing the name of the specs card can be seen clearly written.
Preparation = Take a piece of soap and write the name of a card on your arm. It sounds stupid, but do it.
you also need a piece of coal or someone's cigarette.
Method = 1. Force a card
2. Shuffle it into the deck
3. Hand deck to spec to think of card
4. Ask for cigarette or piece of coal.
5. Rub cigarette or piece of coal on arm, or have someone else do it. All they need to do is rub it back and forth, or all over your arm. The name of the card becomes visible.
6. Plug ears for screams of hot teenage chicks.

nail through board

Trick = The Magician drives a nail through a board with only a scarf wrapped around his bare hand.
Method = NAIL THROUGH A BOARD – It really is possible to drive a nail through a 1-inch pine board with just your hands! It definitely helps to wax the nail with some paraffin. It also helps to use a coated sinker nail. Protect your hand with a thick pad made from a folded dish towel or bandana. Hold the cushioned nail head firmly against the bone at the base of your middle finger. Then grasp the wrist of that hand with your other hand, raise both arms above your head, and slam the nail down firmly with a full arm swing. Don't hesitate! You will need a strong table to swing against, and maybe another board to protect the table. When I did it, the nail went through the board and 1/2 inch into the table below. It was pretty impressive to have to pry the board off! It takes some practice to hold the nail at the right angle so it enters the board vertically after the swing. I found this stunt in an old book, Science Magic by Kenneth M. Swezey, published in 1952 by McGraw-Hill.
