Bee it Knowne unto all men by these prsentes
yt James Vanerit of ffoxe hill in ye County
of Elizabeth City gent doe make, constitute, ordayne and appoynt
my welbeloved freind Beniamin Mathewes of Accomacke my true &
lawfull Attor in my name and for my use, to aske, demand recovr
and receive of John Badham & George Clarke them or eyther of
them (for wch I have their bill) beinge ioyntly &
sevrally bound for Twenty foure hundd powndes of tobac
& Caske: And for non paymt of ye said
debt I doe Authorize my sd Attor. to sue, Implead & imprisson
ye said Debtores or eyther or them for recovrye
of the same: And whatsoevr my sd. Attor. shall
doe eyther in recovry of ye same debt or in
Acquitting releassinge or dischargeinge ye said debtors
I doe confirme ratifye and allowe of as I psonallye did ye
