This Indenture made this Sixteenth day of October in the Year of our Lord Christ One thousand and Seven Hundred and Eighty Six Between John Wood Senr. of the County of Prince Edward and parish of St. Patricks of the one part, and John Bradshaw Junr for and in consideration of the Just and full sum of Forty pounds Current money of Virginia by the said John Bradshaw to John Wood in hand paid the receipt whereof the siad John Wood doth Acknowledge he the said John Wood Senr. hath granted, Bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant, Bargain, Sell and Confirm unto the said John Bradshaw Junr. his heirs and Afsigns forever, One Certain tract or parcel of land Situate lying and being in the County aforesaid, Containing by Estimation forty acres be the same more or lefs and bounded as followeth (to wit) Beginning at John Bradshaw Senrs line thence along to Hawkins line thence along his line to Griffin Ponds line thence along his line to the Beginning including forty acres be the same more or lefs with all the appertinances thereto belonging and also the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders, Rents and Services of the said land and premises and of every part and parcel thereof, and all the Estate Right title and Interest whatsoever of him the said John Wood Senr of in or to the said tract of land and every part and parcel thereof.  To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land and every part thereof with the appertinances unto the said John Bradshaw Junr, his heirs and Afsigns forever, to the only proper use benefit and behoof of him the said John Bradshaw, Jr. his heirs and Afsigns forever and the said John Wood Senr for himself and his heirs the said Mefsuage or tenement and premises and every part and parcel thereof against him the said John Wood Senr, his heirs and against the Challenge Claim and demand of every other person or persons whatsoever to the said John Bradshaw Jr. his heirs and Afsigns, shall and will Warrant and forever defend by these presents in Witnefs whereof I the said John Wood Senr hath hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the day and date above Written.

At a Court held for Prince Edward October 16th 1786 The within deed Indented with Recipt thereon indorsed from John Wood Senr. to John Bradshaw Jr. was presented in Court and Acknowledged by the said John Wood party thereto be his Act and deed and at the same time Sally Wood wife of the said John Wood being prively examined Relinquished her Right of Dower in the lands in said Deed mentioned and Ordered to be Recorded and Certified.
