Singleton researchers believe James S(h)ingleton to be the father of William S(h)ingleton of Beaufort County, North Carolina. Unfortunately James died without leaving a will, so we must rely on other documents to link James to our Singleton family tree. These deeds contain information about the disposition of his land and adds another "piece of the puzzle" needed to connect James S(h)ingleton. We hope by posting these deeds to this site, Singleton researchers will be able to study them and maybe solve the "missing link" between James and William.

Our Singleton research group welcomes any information and documents related to James S(h)ingleton who was present in Chowan  Precinct/ Beaufort Precinct/ Beaufort County, North Carolina from 1711 and 1739.
