The following contains a correct Inventory of the property and Effects
belonging to the Estate of Harvy Herrington, late of said County
deceased to Wit.
1 Large Road Wagon one ox Wagon
1 old sulky broke one bay mare one yoke of Oxen one feather bed and
furniture and various articles of house hold and kitchen furniture of
not much value one Negro woman Named Mary about 50 years of age.  one
Negro woman Named Maria about 70 years of age two clocks An Eighty Acres
land Warrant.  one man saddle 1 Chest two Trunk 2 shot guns a Rifle
sulky harness.

To the Judge of the Court of Probate for said County your petition Miles
J Herrington respectfully represents unto your Honor that he is sole
Administrator of the Estate of Harvy Herrington, late of said County
deceased That said deceased died sized and possess of two Negro Woman
slaves to wit Mary a Woman about fifty years of age and Merea also a
Woman about Seventy years of age that said last named Negro Woman is
nearly or quite blind and has been for many years and that she is
valueless & will in all probability become a charge on the Estate of
said deceased.  That said deceased died seized and possessed of two
Wagons and one yoke of oxen one horse and one old sulky.  household and
kitchen furniture & c that said deceased owned no land at the time of
his death that the Estate of said deceased is in a wasting condition
that there are no debts of any consequence against said Estate that said
slave and other perishable property of said Estate cannot be fairly
equally and beneficially divided without a sale thereof your petitioner
prays your Honor to grant him an order of sale to sell the said property
of said Estate for the purpose of more fair equal and beneficial
division thereof among the Heirs and distributees of the Estate of said
deasd. and that the same be sold on a credit of Twelve month.  your
petitioner would further represent that in as much as one of said negro
Woman is Valueless and in fact a charge upon the estate of decendent and
that the other negro waman is advanced in life and of no great value
that it would be to the interest of intestates Estate to sell both of
said negro woman together and as in duty bound.  Your petitioner will
ever prays & c March 1st 1858

The following is a list of the Heirs and distributees of the estate of
Harvey Harrington Deceased towit.  Nancy Buchannan wife of Samuel
Buchannan the former residing in Louisiana the said Samuel having
departed this life.  John Harrington of full age residing in the State
of Mississippi.  Salie Hart wife of William Hart residing in the State
of Texas.  Mary Burson wife of Enoch Burson the latter having departed
this life said Mary was residing in Wilcox County Ala.  The heirs of
Clarissa Canada Deceased residing in Mississippi.  Hampton J. Harrington
of full age residing in Texas and Miles J Herrington of full age
residing in Conecuh County Alabama.

Personally appeared before me S J Bolling Judge of Probate for the
County and State aforesaid Miles J Herrington Administrator of the
Estate of Harvy Harrington Deceased who after being duly sworn on oath
says that the foregoing report for Final Settlement of said Estate as
the sames stands stated is true and correct to the best of his knowledge
and belief swore to and subscribed before me on this the 5th day of
September 1859.

Received of Miles J Herrington Administrator of the Estate of Harvy
Harrington Deceased Twelve Hundred and Twenty Seven & 57/100 Dollars in
full payment for my Distributive share of said estate also in full
payment for the distributive s[hare] of Mary Bursen, Sarah Hart, B F
Kenedy and Nancy Buchannan, Miles J Herrington and John Herrington (and
I have filed the Power of Attorneys from the first four heirs named
above) and the letter of John Herrington.  The Distributive Share of
each being one Hundred and seventy five & 36/100 Dollars as will appear
by reference to a Partial Settlement and 

p. 451:

Distribution of said estate made in the Probate Court of Butler County
on the 12th day of September 1859 the amount being this day ascertained
and paid over to me this day and I bind myself to hold said Miles J
Herrington harmless as to the share of Clarissa Kennedy's children and
the share of John Herrington, this September the 5th 1859.
