Will of Phillamon Harrington 8 May 1803
State of North Carolina,Chatham County

In the name of GOD Amen.
I, Phillamon Harrington of the County and State aforesaid being weak in
body but of perfect mind and memory do make and ordain this my last Will
and Testament. First that all my just debts be paid out of my
Estate by my Executors here after named. I lend to my beloved wife,
Fanny Harrington, all my estate both real and personal to be kept
together to raise the children on, which it has pleased God to bless us
with.
Until the youngest child which is Sally Merriman Harrington aged at this
time one year and seven months old until she shall arrive to the age of
fourteeen years, then for the whole of my estate so lent to be equally
divided to my wife Fanny and all my children namely
Nancy Maddox, William Harrington, Drury Harrington, Lurany Harrington,
Dempsey Harrington, Polly Harrington, Robert Harrington, Elizabeth
Harrington and Sally M. Harrington. To them and their heirs forever
except my beloved wife Fanny Harrington is to have one third part of the
landed estate during her natural life. And after her death my
desire is that all her part of the estate real and personal be equally
divided amongst my above named nine children. Also I do hereby appoint
and ordain my beloved wife Fanny Harrington, my son William Harrington,
and my son in law William Maddox and Benjamin Justin my exectors to
this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have here unto
set my hand and seal this 8th day of May 1803...

NOTE: This will was transcribed by Barbara Parsons.

NOTE: Philamon Harrington was married to Frances "Fanny" Harmon.
      He was the son of Charles and Agnes Hill Harrington.
      Philamon served in the American Revolution from the State
      of North Carolina. 
      Philamon was enumerated in the 1790 Census of Chatham Co, NC.
      He died between May 8, 1803, when his will was dated and August
      1803, when it was probated.
      After his death in 1803, his widow Fanny moved to Hickman
      County, Tennessee. She was enumerated in the 1810 and 1820
      Census.
