April 3, 1999:
Well, It's another really weird weather day here in San Francisco...the radio said it was snowing South of Market. Grey and drizzly here. To chase the blues away, I've got Sheryl Crow cranked up loud. I'm really bummed about not going to her concert, but then... you can't always get what you want.
March 1, 1999:
Gotta get some energy! Pop in a Brian Setzer Orchestra CD, and I'm ready to take on anything the day can throw at me. Man, that ex-stray cat can swing!
February 10, 1999:
It's a fine day, and Buddy Holly takes away any care one may have. Only slightly related ... Buddy Holly is alive and well on Genymede, by Bradley Denton, is a great book. It's been years since I read it, but I remmember liking it a lot.
January 31, 1999:
Today's violin lesson was great! My teacher (Leonard) and I have been talking about playing around with some celtic-style fiddling. So, after the lesson, we listened to a CD I brought back from Ireland this summer. The fiddle player's named Gerry O'Connor, and he's wonderful.
Now I'm playing around with my site, and singing along to Sheryl Crow.
January 13, 1999:
Just listening to the radio today. This flu's got me so fuzzy in the head. Dave Mathew's on---good choice. Achoo, from a cotton ball world.
January 1, 1999!
Happy New Year! It's been a year of new starts here. Biggest new start is our baby (wich I swear kicks, in rythm, to my music), due in the spring. It seems I'm carrying a new fan of They Might Be Giants. We're dancing around to my favorite album of theirs, Flood.
December 20, 1998:
Snow! ...did you say snow?...In San Francisco? Yes indeed ladies and gentlemen, we were gifted with snow right in the middle of San Francisco, today. But that wasn't the weirdest part. After the big clouds passed by, it was bright and sunny...but still awfully cold.
In honor of such strange weather, I've popped in some CDs and set the player to full random: They Might Be Giants (Flood), The Dukes of Stratosphere (Chips From The Chocolate Fireball), Elvis Presley (the Sun Sessions CD), a compilation (Sweet Relief: a benefit for victoria williams), and Sheryl Crow.
December 13, 1998:
Big Pig!!! Those drums! What a way to celebrate my first day of Christmas vacation! I haven't listened to this band in so long, that I found it in a pile of old tapes. No waiting, I've got to get this sound on CD. How could I have forgotten this one?
December 1, 1998:
The semester's almost over. Yikes! I'm working on my last project for "assembly language", and listening to a live concert of the GooGooDolls on KFOG.
November 15,1998:
It's been a while since I've made an entry here. Well, between school and the new little BioRythm I've been carrying for a little over four months, I've been busy.
Right now, I'm listening to Jeff Buckley's last album: "Sketches for my sweetheart the drunk". It's amazing that most of it was recorded on a four-track. If this was just working through ideas, imagine what his finished product would have been. The title of the album is beautifully appropriate, since he was about to start recording an album he may have called "my sweetheart the drunk". |
