Cutting IDD Charges when Phoning Someone WITHOUT Internet Access
In our October issue, we featured a hardware/software telephony solution to reduce your communication costs with your overseas subsidiaries. The main drawback, like many of the other telephony solutions, is that it requires the called party to have a similiar software setup.
The above situation is about to change rapidly. IDT Corporation offers a novel service called Net2Phone that allows Internet users to connect to any phone in the world! Calls are routed from the Net to IDT's conventional telephone network, allowing Internet users to call anyone with a phone. The called party thus do NOT need to even have a computer!
Net2Phone charges are very much cheaper than conventional long-distance rates. You can thus drastically cut your company's phone bill even if your subsidiaries don't have the same corresponding setup as your computer.
