When people hear the word dieting, people often respond to eating less. This is not the case, don't be fooled that eating less will make you slimer. Eating less will make you weaker, tired and ill and that's not the healthy life we want.

THE PROS AND CONS OF EATING LESS

What is there to gain? Apart from getting slimer eating a lot less can result in a number of illnesses. For example, anorexia and bulemia.

Dieting is about eating the right things, things such as;

  • Carbohydrates - which give you the energy you need to grow
  • Proteins - important for growth and repair
  • Fats - thatcontain soluble vitamins
  • Vitamins - which helps to keep you healthy
  • Minerals - such as calcuim which are essential
  • Fibre - To help clean your digestive system

That's the first stage, the second stage is to ensure you eat the right amount of each kind of food.

Now keep this in mind,

  • Carbohydrates give you the energy you need to move and grow,
    • too much and you will get fat,
    • too little and you will feel tired,
  • Proteins are essential for growth and repair,
    • too much and you will get fat and might make a lot of urine,
    • too little and you will not grow properly, wounds will not heal,
  • Fats contain fat soluble vitamins,
    • too little and you will not get all the vitamins you need,
    • too much and you will get fat,
  • Vitamins are required in small amounts, but they keep you healthy, you need:
    • A
    • B1, B2 etc up to B12,
    • C
    • D
    • E
  • Minerals like Calcium and Iron are essential:
    • Calcium is necessary for teeth, bones, muscles and nerves,
    • Iron is needed to make the haemoglobin in your blood,
    • Iodine is needed to control how fast your body works,
    • Sodium, Potassium and Chlorine are needed by muscles and nerves.
  • Fibre is not digested, so you can eat as much as you like, but you must eat some,
    • If you do not eat fibre your bowels will not work properly.

If you stick to the facts given your are sure to maintain a healthy diet both externally and internally.
