| This list does not include service projects for the community and our national Forest, Merit Badge sessions, and a lot of other Troop and patrol activities that happen throughout the year. Troop 789 is very active and getting more so as time goes on. Along with a great younger Scout program, we are trying to expand our high adventure program for older Scouts as you can see in our calendar. Some campouts will have a high adventure things for older boys and also something for our younger Scouts. We will all meet during the campout and come together as a Troop. This is to help keep the interest of all our boys. Parents support is imperative to run a well-rounded program for our kids and to keep their interest in Scouting. |

| Kelpie Adventure During the week of August 20-25, 2006, 17 Scouts and 3 Adults sailed on the 80-foot Kelpie to Catalina Island. The Scout enjoyed motor-boating, snorkeling, and volleyball. Also the scouts visited the USC Wrigley Institute. Click here for pictures. |
