Family Memories
Here you might find a picture from our  past that evokes memories, happy or sad.
Let's remember the grandparents first. My mum and dad affectionately known as Gong-gong and La.They were people of the 20th Century, Gong-gong was born in 1900,and La in 1907. They married in 1929and had their only child-me in 1945.
Here is my Mother Lois Lillian on her wedding day, she really was a beautiful bride.
This is my father, our wonderful Gong-gong who loved his daughter and grand daughters more than anything else in the world. I remember when they were little, he would come around in his car each morning, to take his girls "for a trip around the world" I don't know who enjoyed it most, Gong-gong or the twins.

I found these photo's in Rebekah's  family history project. This one shows my dad at the tender age of 3. Look at his gorgeous curls, I guess he was in "rags' the night before. You can tell he was only a baby because hewas still wearing a dress. One of dads memories was wearing a velvet suit with a huge lace collar -well starched, a wide straw hat with long ribbons, and curls. His big brothers used to pull the hat off and throw it as far as they could for him to chase, then they would run for their lives as dad had a terrible temper.
This is my "Gran", it was taken in the late 1800s Look at her tight waist and bustle. She must have been wearing a very tight corset. I believe she was supposed to have a "beautiful figure". I only remember her as a little lady with a very straight back and a jar of boiled sweeties. She was very keen on "good maners" and used to say "little girls should be seen and not heard". Thank goodness that times have changed. I love listening to my Little Angel chatting away.
I just love this photo, it is so old and battered, but it shows my gran with the baby. Her mum ,with the toddler and in the back row my grandfather, Auntie Olive, their aunt, my mum, and Aunty Edna. The photo has to be almost 70 years old. Can you see the jallopy in the background, it has a canvas fold down hood - the height of fashion.
Mum and Dad's Wedding photo. How chauvenistic - dad sits and mum stands. Actually mum said that was done so the brides dress would show up nicely, I wonder about that! The bridesmaid is mums sister, my Aunty Edna, she looks just like mum. My dad is already bald and so is his big brother standing behind him.
