This photo taken when I was 5 in 1945 at 815 S. Sixth Street where I lived for the first 12 years of my life... Moved to Cramer Hill 1218 N. 18th Street at twelve years of age did various jobs as selling ice cream from a pushcart, as an usher in a local theatre, loaded trailers at a Clorox Plant and even worked in Aluminum Shapes Corporation. At age 17 decided to join the service because my life was going in a wrong direction so I applied at the Army, Navy, Marine and Air Force recruiting. The Air Force was the first to call so that's where I went... I needed something positive in my life and I found it...

After joining the Air Force I went to Lackland Air Base in San Antonio Tx. for 13 weeks of basic training...
My first duty station was Craig Air Force Base in Selma Alabama in 1958..I turned Southern Baptist and was baptized at the Water Avenue Southern Baptist Church, Southern people have the right idea about life Korea 1959.. I was at Osan Air Base working at the Water-Point making potable water for the personnel and K9 dogs used in security... I was transferred to Kimpo Air Base and started on a water plant that would eventually become Kimpo International Air Port.... Korea was a very interesting place, We use to say 'We're sure to go to heaven, because we spent our time in Hell!!! Man how Korea has changed in 40 Plus years.... |

After Korea I went to Luke AFB near Phoenix, Arizona and married Linda Smith the most beautiful girl in the world, unfortunately we were divorced in 1963, we had one child Christopher Devon, I would not see him for the next 13 years... This photo is during my wild time in Phoenix.. I bought this TR3 and joined a sports car club... those were some of the best days of my life.... |

After being called to go to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic around April 1965 to halt a communist takeover little did I know it would change my life forever... I was injures and airevact out to the USA. After spending 6 months in Vally Forge VA hospital I wound up back in NJ and left the Air Force after 8 years with my 2nd Honoable Discharge.. Worked in various Pest Control jobs. Also worked about two years at Wheaton Glass Factory, I was the guy who put the ship on Old Spice bottles... I was married to Nancy Ford from 1968-1977 in New Jersey. We lived the American Dream, built a new house, had a new car every other year. This is when a dollar was a dollar in the USA... Well Linda and I wound up getting back together in Durango Colorado in 1977 after almost 14 years, we had some happy times. We divorced again in 1981. |
