THE FAMILY TREE

I think that I shall never see, the finish of a family tree,
as it forever seems to grow from roots that started long ago.
Way back in ancient history time, in foreign land and distant time.
From them grew trunk and branching limbs, that dated back to time so dim.
One seldom knows exactly when, the parents met and married then;
Nor when the twigs began to grow, with odd-named children, row on row.
Though verse like this is made by me, the end's insight, as you can see.
'Tis not the same with family trees, that grow and grow through centuries.

This research is also a tribute to our beloved brothers and sisters
who are no longer with us.

William Jack Weisert, Virginia Rose Weisert Berry, Robert John Weisert,
Marcia Germaine Weisert and Franklin Delano Weisert

Our parents cast long shadows over our lives. When we grow up, we imagine that we
can walk in the sun, free of them. We don't realize, until it's too late, that we have no
choice in the matter; they’re already ahead of us.

We carry them within us all our lives--in the shape of our face, the way we walk,
the sound of our voice, our skin, our hair, our hands, our heart. We try all our
lives to separate ourselves from them, and only when they are gone
do we find we are indivisible.

You are about to take a journey with us through many years in the lives of the Weisert family. Although it is lengthy, there are many exciting events in the lives and times of the Weisert and Reagan families. Sit back, relax and enjoy.

OUR GOAL

Our goal and interest of genealogy research is to know more about our heritage, both far and near. Once you start gathering more names and dates you will be hooked for life, because there is always an Aunt or Uncle you could find
more information on. The going may be rough at times and may be costly; however it will also bring you rich
dividends. What has been preserved in Germany for hundreds of years should be written and made available to
future generations of Weisert's.

It does a lot for our self esteem to be able to trace and know more about our Weisert and Reagan ancestors who contributed to our being here, and to whom we owe so much. This is not altered by the fact that on the Weisert side
we find our ancestors possibly fought in the German army, on the Reagan side, some of them may have been slave owners, in the Civil War some fought with the Confederate Army and some with the Union Army. This part of our
Reagan side we found to be most fascinating, we never knew what to expect next. They were a link in the line leading
to you and me, though there was many miles separating them, fate brought them together. So, along with all those wonderful Weisert's and Reagan's you are proud to claim, and the illustrious forebears that many of us have, be
prepared to find out that your Great-Great Uncle married a first cousin, or your ancestor was found on the prison
census index instead of in a home, it could be worse.

Some researchers only deal with the positive side of their family history to prove how superior their family was, this is
not the situation with this book. No family line is perfect, if it were we would not have had so much fun and excitement writing this book and sharing it with each member of the family. On one occasion, Noreen and I found a woman had married her Uncle. Knowing this to be "hopefully a mistake", we set out to find more complete and documented sources on their relationship. Their marriage record indicated this to be true;
we found after this, nothing was impossible.

In this project we have made every effort possible to document this
family history without error. This being an impossible act, as we all know, we welcome any comments, corrections and suggestions. You can navigate through my pages at your own leisure, We hope to keep all information as up to date as possible. Thank you for visiting and please come back often as we are continually updating new information.

Remember Me
Remember me in the family tree -- my name, my days, and my strife;
Then I'll ride upon the wings of time and live an endless life.

A very special thanks goes out to all the family members who so patiently and generously shared their time, memories, skills and pictures to help put these web pages together.

While we acknowledge and miss family members who are no longer with us.  We realize that life goes on; therefore, to perpetuate and to preserve the Weisert family growth, we continue on with the addition of new family members.  This in turn will cast the shadows of our forefather's even farther into the future.
It is with great sadness that I write about two family members that are no longer with us, my niece and nephew Charles Andrew Berry and his sister Noreen Jean (Berry) Smalley.  As you have seen while reading all our family pages that Noreen and I have worked very hard in preserving our family history.  They will leave a void in our family’s life forever.  Noreen and I worked on our family genealogy for many years and it will be hard to start back up without her.  She was with me every step of the way with the Weisert family reunions, to me she was more of a sister that a niece.  Between my brother Richard, Noreen and I, we wrote 3 family books, maintained these pages and a photo site so the family could stay up to date with new pictures.  I hope the family will treasure the Weisert Family Books forever, I don't believe I can do another one now.   If you would like to view and sign her guest book, just click on the link.below.

Our sympathy and love reach out to you and your family during this time of sadness. We know that the peace and love that surrounds them now is sustaining you all.

God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be.
So He wrapped his arms around you,
and whispered, "Come to me".
You didn't deserve what you went through,
So He gave you rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best
And when I saw you sleeping,
So peaceful and free from pain
I could not wish you back
To suffer that again.
